Crestview OKs contract for resource officer
COLUMBIANA — Crestview Local Board of Education has approved a contract for police services for a school resource officer with Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office effective with the 2022-2023 school year for a period of three years.
The sheriff’s office will provide one full-time (40 hours) deputy sheriff who will serve as a school resource officer for the district during the school year. The board will pay the sheriff $43 per hour the deputy provides services to the school, due on the first day of the month for the month prior.
According to the contract, the deputy will be subject to use by the sheriff in emergencies, but otherwise they will be at the school for the duration of their shift. The deputy will be an employee of the sheriff and not the school board.
In other business, the board voted to approve:
Quick Med to complete the required bus driver annual DOT physicals for the 2022-2023 school year
The 2022-2023 dues to the Ohio Coalition for Equity & Adequacy of School Funding
Granting permission to ACCESS to install, operate, maintain, repair and replace network equipment in each school building
Accepting the resignation of Courtni Johnson, CHS teacher, effective the end of the 2021-2022 school year
Accepting the resignation of Nicolina Circella, CMS/CHS intervention specialist, effective immediately
Granting a two-year limited administrative contract and fringe benefit package as per established guidelines to Annette VanHorn as supervisor transportation/warehouse beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024; 260 work days per year as per salary schedule
Awarding the following licensed personnel a supplemental contract for the Crestview Work Study & Amatrol Ignite 4-D program at $17 per hour for the 2021-22 school year – Robert Cooper
Allowing the ES teachers to do before or after school professional development with Silver Apple and Samsung be paid the hourly rate of $17 an hour for up to 16 hours effective Jan. 10, 2022
Granting supplemental contracts to the following certificated personnel for the 2021-22 school year as per salary schedule for the assignment designated: Ronald McCloskey – CHS Annual
Approving the following personnel for Athletic Department event positions for the 2021-22 school year: L. Scott Hughes – CHS Boy Basketball Scorekeeper
Awarding the following licensed personnel a supplemental contract to serve as Resident Educator Mentor for up to 50 hours of service mentoring new teachers at $17 per hour for the 2021-22 school year: Kathryn Vrabel
Employing the following licensed personnel on a one-year limited contract basis for the 2022-23 school year according to the salary schedule as recommended by Matthew T.
