Shawn D. Holt will be the 148th commencement speaker for the East Liverpool High School Class of 2022 on Sunday, May 29 in the ELHS Potter Fieldhouse at 3 p.m.

Holt currently is the Chief Executive Officer of River Vista Hospital. With more than 27 years of experience in hospital administration, Holt understands first-hand the challenging battles of life and overcoming obstacles to be successful. Holt is skilled in managing nonprofit organizations, planned fundraising, youth development, crisis intervention, and family therapy.

Before joining River Vista, Holt was the President/CEO of Maryhaven Inc., Central Ohio’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral health services provider specializing in addiction recovery. Throughout his career, Holt has held leadership positions with various organizations such as St. Vincent Family Centers, National Youth Advocate Program, Franklin County Children Services, The Buckeye Ranch, and Twin Valley Psychiatric Systems.

Holt is a 1989 graduate of East Liverpool High School and went on to play collegiate football and basketball at Bethany College where he received his Psychology degree. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Franklin University.

Holt was recognized as the 2020 CEO of the Year at the Medical Mutual Pillar Awards and was an American Red Cross Heroes Award recipient in 2018. Holt currently resides in New Albany, Ohio with his wife Rebecca and two children — Madison and Shawn Jr.
