East Palestine Street Fair to begin Wednesday
EAST PALESTINE — The annual East Palestine Street Fair will begin this Wednesday and run through Saturday.
Sponsored by the East Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce, this year’s street fair will feature rides for all ages and games provided by McGinnis Amusements from Strongsville.
Broken Smile Farm from Rogers, Ohio, will have pony rides and a petting zoo.
McGinnis Amusements also will have fair food along with your favorite vendors – Richardson’s French Fries, Shirley’s Steak & Sausage, Vlaho’s Greek Gyros, Ziggy’s Concessions, Double Deuce Kettle Korn, Cheese Louize, and The Snack Shack.
The Chamber of Commerce is excited to again sponsor the $5,000 raffle, which will be pulled on Saturday evening the last day of the fair. Tickets are being pre-sold at many local businesses and will be available for purchase on all of the nights of the fair. There will be a $100 drawing on Wednesday, a $250 drawing on Thursday, a $500 drawing on Friday, all leading up to the $5,000 grand prize drawing on Saturday night.
Entertainment will be provided each night of the fair beginning at 7 p.m. at the stage located at the far south end of the fair. Wednesday will feature a live performance by local Stayin’ Alive Cardio Drummers; Thursday, will be the Project Band; Friday, Unity Band; and Saturday, the performance will be by 7 Stone.
Fairgoers can go to the Chamber of Commerce tent located on the midway and sign up for free nightly drawings which are for the following: McGinnis ride pass on Wednesday night, $50 gift certificate from Fuller’s Hardware on Thursday night, $50 gift certificate from Sprinklz on Top on Friday night and a pool pass for the East Palestine Village Pool on Saturday.
Fairgoers can also visit their favorite organizations — the Columbiana County Visitor’s Bureau; Community Action Agency of Columbiana County Head Start; East Palestine Band Parents; East Palestine Firefighters Association; East Palestine Alumni Association; East Palestine Amateur Radio Club; East Palestine Area Historical Society; East Palestine Little Bulldogs; East Palestine First Church of Christ; Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library; Girl Scouts of North East Ohio Service Unit 814; Moose Lodge 467; The Town and Country Garden Club of East Palestine; and Threshold Residential Services.
Hours for the fair are as follows: 5 to 10 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, and 1 to 11 p.m., Saturday.
