OVCT changing name to East Ohio College

EAST LIVERPOOL – Ohio Valley College of Technology is changing its name to East Ohio College in conjunction with its launch of its online offerings.

“As of January 2022, the college has entered a new and exciting chapter in its 136-year legacy. As we further adapt our curriculum and delivery methods to meet the needs of today’s learners through online and blended program offerings, we have determined that a name change is both necessary and appropriate for our campus. In addition to changing the name to East Ohio College, we are excited to announce the launch of our online campus which, like our East Liverpool campus, will offer quality healthcare programs,” said Campus President Courtney Martin.

The college was founded in 1886 under the name Ohio Valley Business College and in 2002 changed its name to Ohio Valley College of Technology (OVCT) to reflect the program offering demands of students at that time. The name remained OVCT until Jan. 1 when the college officially changed its name to East Ohio College. This name change is reflective of the growth the college has experienced in the last 20 years.
