WELLSVILLE -- Village council made efforts to correct a dilemma Tuesday night, which involved the new ladder truck.
During their regular meeting, members unanimously approved payment of invoices totaling $36,912.60, the bulk of which included altering of the fire station, so the truck would fit inside the structure.
DellaPenna Construction's quote to repair the fire department garage and replace the door of $33,125 was accepted.
After being released last fall from fiscal emergency by the state of Ohio, Wellsville purchased two new vehicles for its fire department with its fire levy money. However, after their $798,740 ladder truck was delivered, officials learned it didn't fit in the fire station, so it has been sitting in the parking lot, exposed to the inclement weather.
