Ascension Church building for sale

Tom Davidson, president of the Wellsville Historical Society, announced that they no longer wish to retain ownership of the Ascension Church located at 11th and Main Street in Wellsville. The Ascension Church and the River Museum were both built around 1870 and, while both are historically important to the community, the Wellsville Historical Society has been in operation since 1948 and our continued goal as a historical society is to preserve the history of the Ohio Valley and to share it’s importance with people near and far. The Wellsville River Museum building is a pivotal part of our ability to carry out that goal.

In addition to the home that houses the museum, the society also maintains a caboose, a firehouse museum, a country store and a storage building. It should be noted that the Ascension Church is on the National Register of Historic Buildings. While we realize the importance of this building, our first priority must be the River Museum. Any party or group interested in obtaining ownership of the Ascension Church should contact the Historical Society at P. O. Box 13, Wellsville, Ohio 43968 or by phoning 330-532-1018.

Starting at $2.99/week.
