EAST LIVERPOOL -- Authorities seized large amounts of suspected cocaine, marijuana, phones and cash while raiding a home on Morton Street on Wednesday.
Detective Sgt. Brett Grabman, director of the Columbiana County Drug Task Force reported the DTF, along with the county sheriff's office, the East Liverpool Police Department and the St. Clair Township Police Department, served a drug trafficking search warrant at 414 Morton St., a home owned by Natasha Rodriguez, 30, who was home at the time.
Authorities were able to recover multiple phones, digital scales, nearly 90 grams of crack cocaine, 156 grams of marijuana and $3,874 believed to be proceeds of drug-related activities.
Although Detrick Orrell, 41, also reportedly lives at the home, he was not there during the initial search. Other patrol units driving through the neighborhood shortly after the initial raid found Orrell nearby. Orrell is currently on federal supervision following his recent release from federal prison.
Another person believed to regularly occupy the home, Norman Shields, 50, was not present initially, but returned while authorities were there. Shields has been reportedly doing maintenance and remodeling at the home.
No charges were filed at this time, but the evidence collected was sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations for analysis.
