Woman taking bedtime tales to social media on Saturday

SALEM -- A local woman is taking her love for literacy and little ones online.
For the seventh consecutive Saturday, Stacy Corll will take to Facebook to offer a bedtime story for her young followers.
Corll explained that due to their parents and guardians' busy schedules, many children don't have anyone to read them a bedtime story, so she she decided to tackle the challenge. Corll, the administrator of the Little Loves Learning Center in Salem, will be presenting a St. Patrick's Day story, such as "The Littlest Lephechaun."
"I did all Valentine's Day-theme books in February and Green Eggs and Ham on Dr. Seuss's birthday," she explained, saying that her followers already are increasing.
Corll has created a Facebook group for Saturday Night Bedtime Story, which boasts 43 members.
"The interest is there more than I realized. I expected it would probably be just preschool families and close friends," she said. "But now I have people in my group that I have never met."
She did say that it has been a good way to network for the learning center, which she does offer Christian-based preschool for children age 3-5 through Salem Nazarene Center.
"Opening my own preschool has been a dream of mine since I was in high school," she said, adding that Little Loves had been in operation since mid-September. "Our curriculum is very hands-on, math and literacy oriented."
The Salem Nazarene Center, 1431 North Ellsworth Ave., will be hosting a drive-thru pork chop dinner for the Little Loves Learning Center between 4 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 16. Cost is $9.To preorder call Corll at 234-575-7002 by Sunday.
