Dairy Booster award available
Applications are being accepted for the 2021 Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Booster scholarship. One to two scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded. Applicants must be a member of a Columbiana County family whose primary occupation is directly involved in the dairy industry, including but not limited to dairy cattle milk production, dairy cattle heifer raising, and dairy equipment/supplies/supplement sales (providing dairy is the primary focus of sales). Previous scholarship recipients may not reapply. Drive up for some Grange soup
Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, will hold its monthly drive-thru soup sale on Thursday, Feb 11. Cost is $7 per quart. This month's soups will be broccoli cheese and vegetable beef. Soup must be ordered by noon feb 10; call 330-821-8023. Leave your name, phone number, type of soup and number of quarts. Soup will be available for pickup from 4-6 p.m.
Dinner to help medical expenses
A benefit stuffed chicken breast drive-thru Dinner will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main St. The dinner will raise funds to help with the medical expenses of Matthew Welker. The dinner will consist of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and dessert. Cost is by donation.
South Range sets K registration
Kindergarten registration for students in the South Range Local district will be taken March 1-5. Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 may register over the phone and make an appointment for screening by calling the elementary school office at 330-549-5578 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. during the designated week. Students to be registered must be resident of the South Range school district.
