Seven-year-old Zane McIntyre, a second-grader from Lisbon, gazes at the star atop the tall and brightly-lit Christmas tree during Light Up Damascus held this month at the Damascus Friends Church. The star atop the honor/memory tree is in memory of Gregory Smith, the son of Roger and Nancy Smith. The event also featured a live nativity, an appearance by Santa Claus and an indoor children's performance.
