EAST PALESTINE -- An East Palestine woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident Friday in Unity Township, the highway patrol reported.
Ashley Pallotta, 33, died in the wreck on state Route 170 south of Jimtown Road in Unity Township just south of East Palestine.
According to the highway patrol, Pallotta was northbound when she lost control of her Mazda Protege, went off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail and went into a ravine. The vehicle also hit a tree and culvert before coming to rest.
She was not wearing a seat belt and drugs appeared to be a possible factor, the patrol said.
