Soles of Luv aids McKinley
A local organization that provides socks and shoes for children, measured and fitted some Lisbon McKinley Elementary students for new shoes. The organization is Soles of Luv. “The smiles on their faces are just amazing,” said Cheryl Barkett of Soles of Luv. Soles of Luv and McKinley Elementary have been working together for a few years now, providing K-5 students with shoes and socks. “It takes a village to raise a child and when we can partner with organizations, like Soles of Luv, it means so much to me that we have people in our tri-county area taking care of our kids and and caring about our children,” said Missy Kemats, guidance counselor at the school. Soles of Luv was started by Cathy Crawford when she saw the need in the community. Soles of Luv has partnered with close to 20 local schools. First, Soles of Luv comes to the school and measures students, then it comes back a week or two later and does a fitting.
