Brightside Project hosts kids food give away

SALEM — The Brightside Project continues their efforts to give hope to children in our community. They will host their next Food Give Away for Kids 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at The Brightside Project’s headquarters located at 138 S. Broadway Ave.

Children ages 3-15 years old who are residents of Columbiana County are invited to choose foods that they want to take home from the choice food pantry. Foods choices available are child-friendly and non-perishable including; soups, granola bars, juice boxes, cereal, crackers and more. “This will be our third Food Give Away for Kids this summer and we’re hoping to see our best turn out yet,” says Lisa Wallace, Co-Director of The Brightside Project. She adds, “We know this event is something fun for the kids to do and it gives them joy so we want to encourage the guardians to bring them out.”

Children in attendance must be accompanied by a guardian who can provide proof of Columbiana County residence such as a utility bill. Proof of income such as a food assistance letter, medical card or paystub is suggested but not required for the July distribution.
