Workers from Stan Cunningham Excavating used hand tools and saws to begin the demolition process on this Minerva Street house in East Liverpool, which is being razed as part of the county land bank program. Normally, heavy equipment is used to bring down the structures, but in this case, the proximity of other occupied homes made it necessary to start removing portions of the structure, according to Cunningham, who said larger equipment will be brought in to do other portions of the work, which he expects to be completed by the end of the week. He said the chimneys are the most precarious part of the tear-down process.
