SALEM -- A note left in a women's restroom at the Salem Walmart led to the store's temporary evacuation Monday afternoon for an alleged bomb threat.
Salem police Lt. Dave Casto said the note specified a certain time for a bomb to go off, but the building was searched and "the time came and went."
Nothing happened and nothing was found and the store eventually reopened.
Casto said the store followed its procedures and store personnel assisted police and firefighters in a search of the interior.
Fire and police personnel blocked the entrances and exits and closed down the parking lot to restrict access into the area and remained until given the all clear.
The call came into the police department at 1:51 p.m. and safety forces remained on the scene until 3:25 p.m.
