Elks to host Sauerwein benefit
There will be a breast cancer benefit for Shannon Sauerwein from 4-11 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Elks. There will be a Chinese auction, raffle and live entertainment. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for ages 5-10 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at Pure Pet and the Elks Lodge, Salem; Layered Edge, Lisbon; D'Lux Motors, Columbiana, or by calling Michele Fisher at 330-277-1110 or Kelly Sauerwein at 330-507-2021. Monetary donations may be made at any Huntington Bank or at gofundme.com (search Shannon Sauerwein).
Dance to aid Columbiana RFL

Dinner will help fire victims
A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction will be held from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the Tri-County Church of God, 139 S. Broadway, Salem. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Proceeds will benefit the family of Jennifer Hardy and Mark Rishel who had a house fire Jan. 27. To donate items and baskets call Cindy Floyd at 330-831-3489.
Work slated at Routes 164-518
ODOT is announcing that state Route 164 will be reduced to one lane of traffic March 6 in Gavers for a slide repair project. The repair will be at the intersection of state Routes 164 and 518 with traffic being maintained in one lane by temporary traffic signals.
Last chance of Grange's soup
The Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, will hold a drive-thru soup sale beginning at 4 p.m. until sold out March 9. The cost is $6 per quart with choice of loaded baked potato soup and stuffed pepper soup. To reserve soup call 330-821-8023 and leave your name, phone number, type of soup and number of quarts. This will be the final soup sale for the season.
