STEUBENVILLE – A woman who claimed she was dreaming about filleting a fish when she allegedly slashed her husband’s throat on July 26 was one of 11 people indicted Wednesday by the Jefferson County grand jury.

Judith Jones, 46, of 19 Second St., Dillonvale, allegedly told law enforcement at the time she was dreaming when her husband’s throat was cut with a steak knife. Her husband, Thomas Jones, was taken to East Ohio Regional Hospital for treatment of a four-inch laceration on his throat.

She was indicted Wednesday on charges of one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault.

During questioning, Jones admitted to Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies she had tried to kill her husband with a steak knife. Reportedly the couple’s 16-year-old daughter told deputies she had seen her mother take the knife into the bedroom. Judith Jones also reportedly washed the knife and placed it back in the kitchen after the alleged stabbing.
