LISBON — A Canton man was sentenced to four to six years in prison for a second-degree felony charge of burglary for breaking into a woman’s garage in East Liverpool last fall.
William Dale Jacquet, 31, appeared in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court and was also sentenced to 18 months in prison for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and 90 days in jail for misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, with all of the sentences to be served at the same time for the total of four to six years.
A fifth-degree felony theft charge was dismissed. The charges all stemmed from two incidents on Nov. 11, 2024 when he broke into the garage in East Liverpool and was pulled over for a traffic stop in Liverpool Township. He was found in possession of a glass smoking pipe with white residue after the pipe fell from his pant leg.

LISBON — A Pennsylvania woman was served with two secret indictments for drug charges at the Columbiana County Jail Thursday.
Rebecca L. Burton, 46, whose last address was Coraopolis, Pa., is charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine March 14, 2024; and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, and illegal use of possession of a drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, for allegedly possessing cocaine and drug paraphernalia Jan. 18, 2024.

LISBON — A Lisbon man has been fined for domestic violence.
Matthew Warren, 41, Elmwood Drive, Lisbon, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended, 20 hours of community service and ordered to have no contact with the victim for domestic violence for striking a person in the face with an open hand on May 20 in Lisbon.
Stanley Tatro, 36, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for failing to stop for a school bus with its stop sign displayed and lights flashing in Salem on May 22.
Alfred Karaffa, 67, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, was fined $500 for polluting a waterway for throwing a shotgun into the scenic river at Beaver Creek State Park and fleeing the area on May 18.
Kyle Fenton, 34, Wedgewood Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served for disorderly conduct amended from menacing, with an additional charge of obstructing official business dismissed for threatening harm on another person and fleeing from officers on foot in East Liverpool on Nov. 13.
Amanda Myers, 35, state Route 152, Richmond, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and expired registration.
Shannon Bell, 27, Ridge Street, Leetonia, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Patrick Hannan, 19, Saline Street, Irondale, was fined $50 for use of an unauthorized plate.
A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Jordan Dixon, 18, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, for allegedly slapping a man in the face twice leaving a red mark in the shape of a handprint on the right side of his face at an East Liverpool business on May 29.
A pretrial was set Aug. 11 for Catherine Shaffer, 23, New Brighton, Pennsylvania, charged with making false alarms for allegedly knowingly reporting an offense which did not occur to a law enforcement agency, causing the arrest of another person for domestic violence in East Liverpool on Jan. 18, and subsequently admitting she had made the false statements out of anger to cause them to be arrested at the police department on Jan. 22.
A pretrial was set Aug. 7 for Victor Hurst, Auburn Street, East Liverpool, charged with endangering children, OVI, and left of center, for allegedly having a minor in the vehicle while under the influence during a traffic stop in Madison Township on May 25.
A pretrial was set Aug. 14 for Brian White, 29, Beechwood Avenue, Wooster, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly arranging to engage in sexual conduct with an undercover agent for $160 in Salem on May 23 with the cellphone used to arrange the illegal acts in his possession.
A pretrial and probation violation hearing were set June 9 for Gregory Dailey, 37, Bloomfield Drive, East Liverpool, charged with possessing drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a container with residue commonly used for abusing narcotics, and suspected narcotics during a traffic stop in East Liverpool on Sept. 15.
A pretrial was set Aug. 11 for Charles Smith, 44, Springview Street, East Liverpool, charged with use of unauthorized plate, driving under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, and illegal operation of a dealer’s motor vehicle.
