LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases against Cagney Allen Springer, 36, Penn Avenue, East Liverpool, were bound over to the county grand jury for fifth-degree felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor theft for allegedly trespassing in an unoccupied structure on Minerva Street, East Liverpool and taking a refrigerator and stove on Jan. 16.
A pretrial was set May 19 for Ryan Thompson, 42, South Broadway Avenue, Salem, charged with assault and obstructing official business for allegedly grabbing a woman, throwing her down and striking her in the back of the head and in the nose area on May 8 in Salem, and then failing to comply with police who came to the property, going back inside and locking the door. He allegedly failed to comply with police orders to come to the door until police were going to force entry, then he opened the door.
A pretrial was set May 22 for Steven Stoffer, 44, state Route 14, New Waterford, charged with aggravated menacing and discharge firearm for allegedly firing three rounds from a pistol at another man’s vehicle, striking the vehicle three times as the vehicle was pulling onto state Route 14 on May 11. The police affidavit said the defendant and victim had an agreement for the victim to remove logs from the defendant’s property. The victim was leaving with the logs when the shooting occurred.
A pretrial was set July 17 for Olivia Redman, 19, state Route 7, Rogers, charged with assault for allegedly smacking a corrections officer who was escorting her in the Columbiana County jail while she was an inmate on April 29.
A pretrial was set July 29 for Scott Bailey, 55, East Third Street, Salem, charged with violating a protection order for allegedly being with a woman who has a protection order against him on May 9 in Salem.
Heather Shreve, 37, Pendleton Street, Lisbon, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for assault amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to take parenting classes. Shreve was accused of punching a juvenile in the face on Nov. 15, 2024 in Lisbon.
Barry Ours, 50, Moore Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to 16 days in jail, with credit for 16 days served, for menacing for making threats against another man on Jan. 21 in East Liverpool.
Sentencing was set May 19 for Jimmy Anderson, 34, state Route 558, Salem, who entered a guilty plea to violating a protection order. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. He was accused of violating the protection order by being at a Walnut Street, Leetonia, address on May 11. A fourth-degree felony charge of menacing by stalking was dismissed due to insufficient documentation submitted in the complaint/affidavit.
Steven Slagle, 35, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to four days in jail, with credit for four days served, for criminal trespass for entering a locked office in the recreation area of the Columbiana County jail while he was an inmate on Feb. 18.
Jeffrey Gowen Jr., 26, Union Street, Washingtonville, was fined $400 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served, for two counts of menacing amended from two counts of domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Gowen was accused of threatening to assault a man and a woman and slitting their throats on Aug. 1, 2024.
Jeanie Schreffler, 40, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for assault amended from domestic violence for a domestic with a male victim on April 10 in East Liverpool, with Schreffler determined to be the primary aggressor. She was also fined $150 for failure to control amended from failure to stop after an accident.
A pretrial was set July 24 for David Gasior, 51, of East Fifth Street, East Liverpool, charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication for allegedly being intoxicated and stumbling around, unable to walk straight in East Liverpool on May 10.
A pretrial was set Aug. 5 for Scotty Haney, 37, Lee Street, East Liverpool, charged with menacing and criminal damaging for allegedly punching the front door of a business in East Liverpool on April 26, breaking the glass, and allegedly making a threat that he was going to punch an officer, which was overheard by the officer. Haney was talking with someone by phone who had been pulled over by the officer on April 27 who had the call on speaker phone.
A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Christopher Joy, 40, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business and theft for allegedly stealing laundry carts from the St. Clair Laundry Room and fleeing on foot from officers attempting to stop him on April 19 in East Liverpool.
Paul Wagner, 31, Northfield, was fined $200 for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing a pill bottle when police were called for a suspicious vehicle in Salem on Nov. 16, 2024.
A pretrial was set Aug. 11 for Christopher Williams, 59, Canfield, charged with marked lanes, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and open container for alleged possessing an open container of alcohol and having a firearm in the vehicle during a traffic stop on May 8 in Columbiana. Williams initially told police he didn’t have any weapons, but during a search, a firearm was found in the center console with a partially loaded magazine with five rounds.
A pretrial was set Aug. 4 for Jayden Underation, 18, Seville, charged with underage consumption for allegedly admitting to drinking after being found hiding in woods in Salem on May 11.
A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Kadin Jackson, 20, old state Route 558, Salem, charged with underage consumption and intoxication for alleged underage drinking on May 3 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set Aug. 11 for Joshua Simmons, 20, West Pennsylvania Avenue, Sebring, charged with underage consumption. Police were called to Kelley Park in Salem for a dispute and located Simmons allegedly hiding in bushes with a strong odor of alcohol.
A pretrial was set Aug. 11 for Benjamin Krueger, 40, New Castle, Pa., charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, OVI breath first offense and operating an all purpose vehicle on the roadway.
A pretrial was set May 19 for Joseph Halfhill, 40, last known address Darlington, Pa., charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense, two counts of driving under suspension.
Chayla Tipton, 23, Massillon, was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, leaving a balance of 10 days still to serve for OVI, driving under suspension and left of center. Her driver’s license was suspended for two years, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
A pretrial was set July 17 for Robert Bowyer, 56, Moore Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and a tinted glass violation.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Nicolas Ottaviani, 24, Park Drive, East Palestine, charged with expired plates.
Adam Brooks Jr., 24, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Ray Collins II, 51, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension, with a speeding charge dismissed.
Ruthann Rose, 41, Seigler Road, Salineville, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
