LISBON — A Streetsboro man accused of possessing multiple images of child pornography pleaded guilty to 51 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, one a second-degree felony and the rest all fourth-degree felonies.
Barry Stephens, 64, whose last known local address was Depot Road, Salem, will be sentenced on June 12 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
He could face a possible maximum sentenced of eight to 12 years for the second-degree felony count and 18 months each for the 50 fourth-degree felonies.
According to a police affidavit filed in Columbiana County Municipal Court, a search warrant was executed Feb. 29, 2024 at Stephens’ residence and a preview was conducted on the computer he used, allegedly revealing in excess of 2,000 images and videos depicting children, some appearing to be toddlers, engaged in sexual acts and in a state of nudity. Also, he had allegedly reproduced or published an image of a juvenile to Microsoft Bing which would be classified as obscene material on Nov. 28, 2022.
A Lisbon man who violated the terms of his probation for a domestic violence charge was sentenced to 90 days in the Columbiana County jail, with credit for five days served, leaving a balance of 85 days still to serve in jail.
James Laughlin, 34, state Route 518, appeared recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for a probation revocation hearing for the fifth-degree felony domestic violence charge.
Laughlin was accused of kicking a pregnant woman during an altercation at the Y-Inn Bar and Grill on state Route 7 in Rogers on Oct. 7, 2022.

— Clayton R. Murray, 24, East Martin Street, East Palestine, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree felony attempted aggravated assault amended from felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and pleaded guilty to misdemeanors of using weapons while intoxicated and three counts of aggravated menacing. Sentencing was set for May 23. A police affidavit alleged that Murray pulled a gun out of his waistband, pointed inside a vehicle with four occupants and told them to leave after an incident in East Palestine on July 13, 2024.
— Daniel J. Hosek, 51, Munroe Falls, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools, with a specification for forfeiture of property, with sentencing set for June 5. Charges of importuning and compelling prostitution will be dismissed. Hosek was accused of requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $160 from a female he believed to be 15 years old, but who was an officer posing as a minor via a telecommunications device, then drove to Salem on Aug. 1, 2024 for the meeting, with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
— Husam Jamal Abdelaziz, 26, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to a lesser included offense of attempted promoting prostitution, which was originally compelling prostitution, and possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies, with sentencing set for June 6. A charge of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor will be dismissed. Abdelaziz was accused of responding to an undercover ad of an adult mother trafficking her 15-year-old daughter on a known prostitution website, arranging for sexual activity with the teen in exchange for $140 and arriving in East Palestine on April 15, 2023 for the meeting.
— Nicolas Stockford, 31, Lones Road, Lisbon, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony, with credit for 125 days served in jail. Stockford trespassed in a property on Aug. 30, 2022.
— Derek Ball, 35, West New York Avenue, Sebring, was ordered to jail for 55 days, with credit for 35 days served, leaving a balance of 20 days still to serve for violating his probation for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. He was accused of resetting his cell phone on Jan. 29, 2022 before giving it to police after being told about an ongoing investigation.
— Dakota Baker, 29, Sell Road, Lisbon, was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail for violating the terms of his probation for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. The 2021 case included a felonious assault charge which was dismissed when he was originally sentenced. He was accused of knowingly causing serious physical harm to a woman in Columbiana County on Aug. 1, 2021 after being previously convicted of domestic violence in 2018.
— Jarrod Westover, 24, Wintersville, last known local address North Market Street, Lisbon, was placed under community control for two years after pleading guilty to possession of a deadly weapon while under detention, a fourth-degree felony. He was accused of having a deadly weapon described as a metal rod filed down to a point at a detention facility in the county on Feb. 24, 2024.
— Steven Moore, 43, Ravenna, was placed on an intervention plan for 24 months after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 4, 2023.
— Tracy Douds, 47, Midland, Pa., was placed under community control for 12 months after pleading guilty to a lesser offense of possession of drugs, a misdemeanor, for possessing alprazolam on June 23, 2014. Douds was originally indicted in 2015 for illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony.
— Charlene Martinez, 39, Slippery Rock, Pa., was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing cocaine on Aug. 18, 2023.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set June 10 for Ronald Bailey, 52, Canterbury Court, Columbiana, charged with domestic violence for assaulting another man by following him outside Riser Tavern in Columbiana, pushing him from behind multiple times, striking him with a closed fist multiple times and using a chokehold on the victim on March 21.
A pretrial was set April 3 for Dustin R. Wright, 28, Berry Road NE, Kensington, charged with violating a protection order and disorderly conduct for engaging in a fight in Salem on March 27 and being within 500 feet of a woman at the scene who has an active protection order against him.
Shaun Edward Bednarek, 52, Summerset Road, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to consecutive jail terms of 30 days each for 60 days for two counts of public indecency expose private parts, with 59 days of the jail term suspended and credit for one day served. He was ordered to complete 80 hours of community service. Bednarek was accused of showing a picture of his private parts on his phone at the clerk’s window at the BP gas station in St. Clair Township on Nov. 7, 2024 and then going inside the gas station and showing his private parts to the clerk and a customer. According to a police affidavit, a picture of his private parts was found on Bednarek’s phone on Nov. 19, 2024 after he had returned to the gas station again and police confronted him at home.
Sindy Juliano, 46, Chester, W.Va., was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served, for falsification and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Juliano was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. She was accused of possessing a suspected crack pipe along with white powder folded up in a paper during a traffic stop on June 18, 2022 in Wellsville. The falsification charge stemmed from an incident on Jan. 11 at the Quality Inn in St. Clair Township when she gave police a different name than her own.
Derek Westover, 38, Fairmount Road, Lisbon, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended, leaving a balance of three days to serve in jail for operating a vehicle impaired second offense. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
A pretrial was set June 5 for Holly Joel, 61, Winona Road, Hanoverton, charged with OVI first offense and a window tint violation.
A pretrial was set June 10 for Douglas Pridemore, 55, state Route 154, Lisbon, charged with forfeiture and no seat belt.
A pretrial was set June 12 for Scott R. Jones, 44, Aebi Avenue NE, Alliance, charged with driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.
A pretrial was set June 5 for Austin Lucas, 19, Bill Smith Road, Wellsville, charged with two counts of speeding.
A pretrial was set June 23 for Kory Jose Flowers, 33, Youngstown, charged with driving while texting. Flowers was fined $30 for failure to display valid sticker.
Christina Day, 21, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for temporary permit required and speeding.
Brian Hebb, 52, McCalla Road, East Palestine, was fined $90 for driving under suspension, no seat belt and a headlight violation.
Mark Morris, 50, state Route 39, Salineville, was ordered to pay costs for driving while texting, with the texting course completed.
Demarcus Burt, 41, Canton, was fined $80 for driving under suspension and traffic control devices.
Joseph Forrider, 24, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Leetonia, was fined $50 for speeding.
