Grand Jury

LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of breaking into an unoccupied property, stealing a pinball machine and disposing of miscellaneous collectibles was served recently with a secret indictment.

Jason Call, 31, Avondale Street, was charged by the Columbiana County Grand Jury with breaking and entering, theft and receiving stolen property, all fifth-degree felonies, for the alleged incidents on July 23, 2024.

Also served with secret indictments were:

— Kira Dunn, 39, Birch Road, East Liverpool, was charged by the Columbiana County Grand Jury with complicity in the commission of an offense and receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies, for allegedly aiding and abetting another person in the theft of catalytic converters on Nov. 23, 2024 and allegedly possessing catalytic converters which were the property of Cassens Transport on Dec. 17, 2024.

— Killian McHenry, 20, North Market Street, Lisbon, grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly stealing a 2023 Kawasaki on Dec. 13, 2024.

— Howard Catheline, 71, Youngstown, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing oxycodone on July 11, 2024.

— John Dennis Lanam, 44, Niles, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on April 20, 2024.

— Jennifer Ream, 46, Moore Street, Lisbon, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Aug. 16, 2024.

— Chase Perkins, 26, Roosevelt Avenue, Salem, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with a specification for forfeiture of money from a drug case, for allegedly possessing $43 and methamphetamine on Dec. 6, 2023.

— Jessica Tremaine, 32, Summerset Road, East Liverpool, two counts nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support from Dec. 4, 2022 to Dec. 1, 2024 for two children.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Arthur Sherin, 48, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 165 days suspended and credit for 11 days served, leaving a balance of four days still to serve in jail for endangering children and domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victims. During an argument with a woman on Jan. 30 in East Liverpool, he slapped a juvenile in the face and also struck the woman three times in the face, causing injury.

Brooke Cooper, 18, Bell Road, Lisbon, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for kicking a child in the leg and hitting the child in the shoulder on Nov. 16, 2024 in New Waterford.

Justin Theodore, 30, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 178 days suspended and credit for two days served, for assault. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Theodore was accused of striking a woman in the head on Sept. 21, 2024.

A pretrial was set May 8 for Shawn Timmons, 38, East Third Street, Salem, charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct for an incident on Jan. 21 in Salem when he barricaded himself in a bedroom and shouted several profanities at police officers. Officers eventually made entry into the structure and found he had some wounds, so EMS was contacted. He also made a gesture and reached for an officer’s service weapon, but was stopped before touching it. Once at the hospital, he was allegedly shouting profanities at the staff and causing a disturbance.

A pretrial was set March 3 for Christian Matthew Bell, 23, Youngstown, charged with theft and criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing in the Dollar General in East Liverpool on Feb. 10 and stealing a pack of boxers and two packs of socks.

Roni Lynn Kroesen, 30, Fredericktown Clarkson Road, Negley, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from obstructing official business for failing to comply with police instructions during a traffic stop on Nov. 24, 2024 in East Liverpool when she was the passenger.

Jared Ault, 39, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $200 and sentenced to five days in jail for theft for stealing a can of alcoholic beverage from Duke & Duchess in Columbiana on Jan. 25.

David Grimm, 58, West Carolina Avenue, Sebring, was fined $100 for drug paraphernalia for possessing a glass smoking device on Nov. 6 in Knox Township.

Ashley Parker, 19, North Shady Lane Drive, East Liverpool, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control, amended from operating a vehicle impaired. A turn signal violation and additional OVI were dismissed. Parker’s driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Scott Kopras, 32, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $875 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI. Charges of no seat belt and a turn signal violation were dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Hunter Lee Willis, 22, McCann Road, Salem, was fined $375 and sentenced to 90 day in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control amended from OVI. Charges of loud exhaust and an additional OVI were dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Robert Cochran Jr., 36, Woodsdale Road, Salem, was fined $450, but with an order to do community service for fines and costs, for loud exhaust and two counts driving under suspension.

Howard Wanless III, 43, Medford, Mass., was fined $50 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.

A pretrial was set March 31 for Holly McCoy, 41, Salem Unity Road, Salem, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set April 8 for Gregory Dray, 66, Longs Church Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set March 31 for Anthony Cook, 36, Beachwood, charged with driving under suspension and a tail lights violation.

A charge of improper registration against Koby Plum, 23, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, was dismissed.

Rhiley Scheider, 24, Strongsville, was fined $230 for driving under suspension, expired registration and no seatbelt.

Caleb Rupert, 27, McCallister Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 for temp permit/no adult.

Steven Stokes Jr., 23, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Scott Zwick, 37, Case Road, Beloit, was fined $50 for reasonable control.

Michael Zema, 48, Main Street, Wellsville, was ordered to pay court costs for a tail lights violation.
