LISBON — A Salem man who violated his probation for 29 counts of vandalism was ordered to prison for 11 months after being resentenced recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Damien Phillips, 22, Ohio Avenue, had been placed under community control for four years for the fifth-degree felony charge, but due to violating the terms, his community control was dishonorably terminated.

He received 11 months in prison for each count, but the terms were ordered served at the same time. He received credit for 194 days served in jail. Phillips was accused of causing damage to at least 15 or more vehicles at Stadium Chevrolet and a dozen postal delivery trucks at the Salem Post Office between Dec. 1, 2022 and Dec. 3, 2022 in Salem. According to Salem Police reports, multiple tires were slashed on multiple vehicles at both locations. The dealership vehicles damaged included 2022 and 2023 models for Chevy Silverado, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Buick Enclave and Cadillac XT6. During his original sentencing. he was ordered to make restitution of $2,935 to Stadium Chevrolet and $3,047 to the U.S. Postal Service for damages to vehicles.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Christopher Schroeder Sr., 68, Beaver Falls, Pa., was sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for three days served, leaving zero jail time, after pleading guilty to unauthorized use of property, a lesser-included offense, from a 2001 case. He was also fined $250. He was originally charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony. On Aug. 23, 2001, he was accused of depriving Elder Ag and Turf Equipment Company in East Palestine of two chainsaws and a weed trimmer.

— Christina Penn, 39, Warren Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail, with credit for 30 days served, leaving a balance of 60 days still to serve in jail after violating the terms of her probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Her community control was dishonorably terminated. Penn possessed methamphetamine on April 23, 2022.

— Charles Slocum, 33, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, was placed under community control for two years and must serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Wintersville for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine o June 10, 2023.

— Justin Davis, 40, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for April 4. He possessed methamphetamine on Oct. 26, 2022.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Feb. 6 for Donald Terwilliger, 53, East Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of operating a vehicle impaired, no seat belt and open container in a motor vehicle for allegedly drinking out of an open bottle of whiskey in a vehicle off the side of the road on Jan. 8 in Unity Township. Terwilliger also allegedly possessed a firearm and was cited for being impaired.

Two counts of domestic violence were dismissed against Jason Trosky, 49, state Route 14, East Palestine, who had been accused of allegedly chasing a juvenile on July 28, 2024 in East Palestine, with the victim believing he was going to cause him physical harm. He was also accused of throwing items at a woman, including a blue plastic toy truck that struck her in the thigh. Costs were taxed to the state.

Jacob Greathouse, 27, East Clark Street, East Palestine, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 28 days suspended and credit for two days served for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Greathouse was accused of shoving a bedroom door into a woman and then shoving the woman, knocking her off balance before she fell to the floor on Nov. 5, 2024 in East Palestine.

Ronald Lee Buzzard, 48, Cleveland Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 162 days suspended and credit for 18 days served, for domestic violence. A charge of misconduct at an emergency was dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours of community service and to stay away from the victim. Buzzard was accused of getting into a physical altercation with a woman while she was sitting inside a vehicle while at the scene of a house fire on Cleveland Avenue, East Liverpool on Jan. 11. Another charge of domestic violence was dismissed for allegedly causing physical harm to a woman after throwing her on the ground during a fight on Nov. 12 in East Liverpool.

A status conference hearing was set March 25 and a court trial was set April 10 for Jesse Murray, 39, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly failing to listen to officer commands during a traffic stop in Salem on Aug. 30, 2024, then refusing to provide his identification or information to police.

Julio Alvarez Box, 27, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 140 days suspended and credit for four days served, leaving a balance of 36 days still to serve in jail for failure to comply amended from resisting arrest. He was ordered to complete 80 hours community service. Box was accused of failing to stop when Salem Police officers were attempting a traffic stop on Nov. 10, 2024.

A pretrial was set March 10 for Jarrett Shields, 24, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, charged with disorderly conduct for an alleged fight at the A1 Bar in East Liverpool on Jan. 19 when he allegedly continued disruptive behavior and continued to fight after being told to stop several times.

A pretrial was set April 21 for Joseph Detore, 29, Louise Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of criminal trespass for allegedly being inside a condemned home in East Liverpool on Dec. 31, 2024 and on Jan. 27.

A pretrial was set Feb. 10 for Jason Call, 31, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia and theft for allegedly possessing a burnt glass pipe in East Liverpool on Jan. 27 and stealing a laundry cart from the St. Clair Laundry Room in East Liverpool on Nov. 8, 2024.

A pretrial was set Feb. 13 for Myron James Youngblood, 43, Puriton Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing in a condemned home in East Liverpool on Jan. 27.

A pretrial was set April 1 for Azsha Sue Marie Everson, 19, Fairview Street, East Liverpool, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing in a condemned home in East Liverpool on Jan. 27.

Maria Pugliano, 40, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 88 days suspended, leaving a balance of two days to serve for theft. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with Calcutta Walmart. Pugliano failed to pay for 17 items totaling $272 at the Calcutta Walmart on Jan. 22.

Melisa Leigh Nunamaker, 42, and Nathan Nunamaker, 40, both of Darlington, Pa., were each fined $100 for prohibition against violations of board related to orders from the Columbiana County Health District to abate a nuisance violation for their property on state Route 517, Columbiana, in Fairfield Township. Court documents said the nuisance included a stagnant swimming pool, tires and a collapsed septic tank, all creating a public health nuisance on Sept. 11, 2024.

A sentencing hearing was set March 18 for Jonathon Snyder, 48, and Heather Snyder, 38, both Harvey Avenue, East Liverpool, who each pleaded guilty to two counts of failure to file city income tax return for allegedly failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns for tax years 2019 and 2020.

David Allen Weaver, 26, Kibler Road, New Waterford, was fined $150 for refuse disposal prohibition for dumping the remains of deceased waterfowl into Beaver Creek on Dec. 7, 2024.

Autumn Sechrist, 39, Grandview Street, East Liverpool, was fined $1,475, with $500 of the fine suspended, and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 82 days suspended and credit for two days served in jail and three days served in a driver intervention program, leaving a balance of three days still to serve in jail for failure to comply, operating a vehicle impaired, lighted lights required and reckless operation. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Sechrist attempted to flee from police initiating a traffic stop on Oct. 19, 2024 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set March 20 for Carlos Sierra-Altamirano, 34, state Route 172, East Rochester, charged with OVI second offense, hit skip/leave scene, driving under suspension and reasonable control.

Arthur Bosworth, 57, Autumn Road, Wellsville, was fined $430 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for reckless operation amended from OVI, reasonable control and no seat belt. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 50 hours community service.

A charge of possessing marijuana was dismissed against James Riley, 33, Youngstown, with costs taxed to the state.

A pretrial was set April 21 for Eric Slagle, 33, Berry Road NE, Kensington, charged with driving under suspension and no seat belt.

Yoselin Dinora Godinez Lopez, no age listed, West Field Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for no valid license.

Eric Fone, 55, Depot Road, Salem, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Christopher Slasor, 53, Moore Street, East Liverpool, was fined $300 for driving under suspension, expired plates and a stop sign violation. A charge of illegal plate was dismissed.

Stephen Stokes Jr., 23, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Selvin Rosendo Ortiz Alvarez, 26, Howard Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 for no license and a stop sign violation.

Jessica Tomlinson, 24, Boardman, was fined $50 for driving under suspension.

Domingo Pedro Francisco, 20, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 for no valid license and reasonable control.

Dominic Haines, 23, Cedar Street, Salem, was fined $210 for no seat belt, loud exhaust, and reinstatement fees payment.

Jessica Spitaleri, 20, Louisville, was fined $50 for a headlight violation, amended from left of center.

Emily Shelestak, 22, Cheswick, Pa., was fined $50 for speeding.
