Grand Jury
LISBON — Anthony Wagoner, 44, Cadmus Street, East Liverpool, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and having a firearm on July 5, 2023 when he was prohibited from having one due to a previous felony conviction.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set Feb. 6 for David Joseph Murphy, 33, Moore Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault and reckless operation for allegedly crossing the median and punching another man after a traffic crash on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township on Jan 23. According to an affidavit, Murphy claimed he crossed the median to get insurance information and the victim began to assault him, but the victim and other witnesses said the defendant crossed the median first and threw the first punch. The victim said he defended himself.
Kevin Pasco, 55, Smithfield Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 day in jail, with 160 days suspended and credit for 11 days served, leaving a balance of nine days still to serve in jail for assault. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and have no contact with the victim. Pasco struck a woman in the face during an altercation on Oct. 19, 2024 in Wellsville.
A sentencing hearing was set Feb. 25 for Shawn Buckel, 54, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, who pleaded guilty to five counts of failure to file city income tax return for failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns from 2020 through 2024.
A sentencing hearing was set Feb. 25 for Lea Yanni, 38, Etruria Street, East Liverpool, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of failure to file city income tax and three counts of failure to pay city income tax for failing to file an East Liverpool city income tax return in 2024 and failing to include remittance with East Liverpool city income tax returns in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Jason Maley, 50, Alliance, was fined $975 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control amended from OVI first offense, speeding, and expired registration. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
Aaron Ice, 47, Crews Road, Wellsville, was fined $1,325 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control amended from OVI, failure to display valid sticker, marked lanes, speeding and two counts of driving under suspension. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
A pretrial was set April 14 for James Stetz, 23, Ashtabula, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.
Christopher Wright, 40, Leslie Road, Roger, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Charles Harrison, 28, Boardman Street, New Waterford, was fined $200 for forfeiture and unauthorized plate.
