Grand Jury

LISBON — Angel Bowles, 51, Minerva Street, East Liverpool, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility and fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine for allegedly possessing cocaine and taking drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility on March 10, 2024.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Jan. 16 for Phillip Devine, 34, Monroe Avenue, Salem, charged with strangulation and domestic violence, both fourth-degree felonies, for allegedly becoming violent, grasping a woman on either side of the base of the neck, and forcefully squeezing and shaking her, leaving abrasions on her neck on Dec. 14 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Jan. 21 for Ronnie Jackson, 50, Steubenville, charged with aggravated menacing and domestic violence for allegedly pulling a firearm on another man during a dispute and pressing the firearm against the man’s neck, causing him to believe Jackson was going to cause him serious physical harm on Jan. 9 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set April 1 for Justin Edward Adelman, 39, Rootstown, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $180, then driving to Salem on Dec. 27, 2024 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

A pretrial was set Jan. 16 for Tarah Desatnik, 40, Middle Street, Homeworth, charged with telecommunications harassment for allegedly sending threatening text messages to a man on Nov. 1, 2024 in West Township.

A pretrial was set Jan. 21 for Augustina Newman, 51, Cleveland, charged with theft and operating a vehicle impaired first offense for allegedly putting items into her purse and not paying for them at Dollar General in East Liverpool on Dec. 11, 2024. The OVI occurred on Jan. 10 in Fairfield Township. A probation violation hearing was also set for Jan. 21 for a 2022 case for assault and criminal damaging.

Jamariona Hill-George, 21, Warren, was fined $400 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and no valid license. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. She took a person’s vehicle without permission on Aug. 5, 2022.

Brenda Henry, 51, Canton, was fined $875 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Chad Slagle, 52, Maple Street, Salem, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and speeding. A charge of OVI refusal with prior within 20 years was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set April 1 for Launah Cunningham, 22, Fombell, Pa., charged with traffic control devices.

A pretrial was set April 3 for James Pizzuti, 19, Hess Road, East Liverpool, charged with reasonable control and unsafe vehicle.

A pretrial was set April 1 for Ryan Golan, 57, Brunswick, charged with speeding.

Mason Taylor, 24, Oakmont Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension and a tail lights violation.

Phyllis Chamberlain, 64, Bank St., East Liverpool, was fined $130 for failure to reinstate and marked lanes.

Jessica Lee, 36, Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Brandon Rawson, 24, Woodland Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
