Court News
LISBON — A woman found not guilty by reason of insanity earlier this year for third-degree felony burglary has been ordered evaluated for continued hospitalization after violating the terms of her conditional release.
Holly Maddocks, 25, formerly of East Liverpool, is set to face a status hearing Dec. 19 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge Scott Washam. Washam recently ordered the evaluation by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio.
After being found not guilty by reason of insanity and determined to be a mentally ill person, she had been conditionally released into the community, but was recently evicted from a group home due to her behavior, prompting the prosecutor’s office to ask that she be placed in the county jail and evaluated, claiming she was a threat to herself and others.
She was taken into custody, awaiting a bed at Heartland Behavioral Health.
Maddocks was charged in 2023 with third-degree felony burglary for allegedly breaking into the home of a family friend in East Liverpool, beginning to tear up the interior and drinking the homeowner’s alcohol on May 14, 2023.
