Grand Jury
LISBON — Mary K. Alt, 35, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was served Tuesday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine, both fifth-degree felonies, for allegedly possessing fentanyl and cocaine on Jan. 14.

LISBON — A Kensington man accused of a series of burglaries in Perry Township this past summer recently entered guilty pleas in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Dakota McCluskey, 32, state Route 644, pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree felony burglary and one misdemeanor criminal trespass for the alleged incidents on July 6 in Perry Township.
He entered a West Pidgeon Road home and when police were looking for him, he entered an attached garage at a Hearthside Drive home. The residents were home at the time. While searching for him, police then heard shouting on West Pidgeon Road and saw him being escorted off of a property by two males where he entered a blocked off back yard.
Sentencing was set for Jan. 9.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— John Chaffin Jr., 35, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, with a specification for forfeiture of money in a drug case. Sentencing was set for Jan. 31. A charge of possession of drugs will be dismissed. Chaffin possessed $110 and methamphetamine in an amount equal or greater than five times bulk but less than 50 times bulk on July 26, 2022.
— Shawn Tremain, 33, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for violating his probation for two separate drug cases. He received credit for 150 days served in jail. Charges against him included two counts aggravated possession of drugs and one count possession of cocaine, all fifth-degree felonies. His probation was dishonorably terminated. Tremain possessed methamphetamine on April 10, 2021 and on Nov. 1, 2019, he possessed cocaine and methamphetamine.
— Javott Dawson, 21, Campbell, was sentenced to nine months in prison for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, with credit for 120 days already served in jail. His driver’s license was suspended for five years. The charge stems from Dawson fleeing from police on Aug. 21, 2022.
— Ashley Bable, 38, Sophia Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to a lesser offense of trespass in a habitation, a fourth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Jan. 23. Bable was originally charged with a second-degree felony burglary count for allegedly entering a property with the intent to commit theft on April 6, 2023.
— Thomas Holman, 44, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony, after being found competent to stand trial. He was accused of being involved in a disturbance on Jan. 9 with a woman who has a protection order against him. Sentencing was set for Nov. 25.
— Jessica Hooper, 37, last known address Sophia Street, East Liverpool, was placed on a treatment plan for five years after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with credit for one day served in jail. Hooper possessed methamphetamine on May 1, 2023.
— Gregory Banfield, 27, Darlington, Pa., was ordered to spend 100 days in the county jail, with credit for 16 days served, leaving a balance of 84 days still to serve for violating his probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Banfield possessed methamphetamine on July 23, 2021.
