LISBON — A Columbiana man who violated the terms of his probation for domestic violence, obstructing and resisting arrest must serve 101 days in the county jail.

Richard Allen Paul Braham, 26, West Park Avenue, appeared recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for a probation violation hearing. His probation was dishonorably terminated and he was resentenced.

Braham was ordered to serve 365 days in the county jail, with credit for 264 days already served, leaving a balance of 101 days still to serve.

The charges against him included domestic violence and obstructing official business, both fifth-degree felonies, and resisting arrest, a fourth-degree felony. Braham was accused of harming a person on Jan. 14, 2022 and then interfered with the investigation and resisted arrest.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Nov. 14 for Timothy Gibbs, 36, College Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony breaking and entering for allegedly breaking into the Craft Treasures & Boutique store in East Liverpool on Oct. 24 with two others, with money and items totaling $1,365 taken. Gibbs allegedly possessed one of the items when he was taken into custody, a large two-sided water fall incense.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Nov. 18 for Charles Slocum, 32, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, charged with fifth-degree felony vandalism and misdemeanor misuse of 911 system for allegedly kicking the seats, roof, doors and divider window of the patrol car after being detained by Columbiana police on Oct. 26, causing cracking and damage to the window. He also allegedly tried to use voice control to use his phone, which was at the front of the cruiser, to try to call 911. He was warned several times not to continue this action, but he claimed he was falsely arrested and continued trying to call 911. The call began when police were called to the Mexico City Bar in Columbiana for a man allegedly sexually assaulting females and trying to fight staff, with police finding Slocum outside laying on the ground with several people pointing him out.

A pretrial was set Dec. 16 for Kirsten Mirabelli, 26, Bethel Park, Pa., charged with domestic violence for allegedly punching another woman in the face during an argument on July 22 in East Palestine. She was also fined $400 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 65 days suspended and credit for 15 days served, leaving a balance of 10 days to serve in jail for resisting arrest, obstructing official business and criminal trespass. A falsification charge was dismissed. She was ordered to complete 80 hours community service. On Oct. 24 in East Palestine, police learned Mirabelli was possibly at a residence and when they arrived, she gave officers a false name. When officers attempted to take her into custody on an active warrant, she ran and entered a garage without permission.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Nov. 14 for Preston Lamar English, 30, Densmore Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanors of obstructing official business, no valid license and a turn signal violation. The felony stemmed from English allegedly placing his foot on a baggy with suspected narcotics inside that had just fallen from his shorts while being patted down by an East Liverpool police officer on Nov. 2, and then trying to kick the bag toward the back wall at the police department. English allegedly slapped a woman in the face during a verbal altercation, smashing her glasses into her face, causing injury on Oct. 1 in East Liverpool. On Nov. 2, after he was told to come out of a house in East Liverpool, he was found hiding in the bath tub in the residence.

A pretrial was set Jan. 23 for Robyn Wornoff, 35, Walnut Street, Rogers, charged with assault for allegedly punching another woman in the nose with her hand in a fist on Nov. 6 in New Waterford.

A pretrial was set Feb. 11 for Richard Murphy III, 32, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly throwing a woman down, shoving her and throwing a fan and a fish tank at her before she fled a Wellsville home on Nov. 6.

A pretrial was set Feb. 13 for Dannie Dabler, 37, Vine Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly yelling and throwing things at a man and hitting him on May 13 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Jan. 14 for Donald Locher, 54, South Union Avenue, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly using his elbow against a woman who allegedly threw a plate at him during a domestic on Sept. 2 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Jan. 28 for Jacob Greathouse, 26, East Clark Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly shoving a bedroom door into a woman and then shoving the woman, knocking her off balance before she fell to the floor on Nov. 5 in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set Jan. 23 for Mollieann Gorby, 24, West Wilson Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting another woman in the face with a closed fist multiple times during an argument on Oct. 21 on Winona Road in Butler Township.

A status conference hearing was set Feb. 11 and a jury trial was set Feb. 19 for Elliott Emanuel Springston, 41, Charles Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly slapping a woman in the face and tackling her in a gravel driveway in East Liverpool on Aug. 9 during an argument.

A pretrial was set Feb. 20 for Susan Scheufele, 45, and David James Scheufele, 40, both East Clark Street, East Palestine, each charged with endangering children for allegedly leaving a 4-year-old child home alone in a locked house unsupervised on Nov. 3 in East Palestine while they went to Pennsylvania. According to a police affidavit, East Palestine police were contacted by Pennsylvania authorities. The Scheufeles both said there was no law on age in the state of Ohio and claimed there was an agreement with the neighbor to send her daughter to check on the child when there was actually no agreement.

A pretrial was set Feb. 13 for Nathen Cody Velez, 33, Timber Run Street, New Waterford, charged with possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for money, then traveling to East Palestine for the meeting on Nov. 6.

A pretrial was set Nov. 14 for Mohamed Nahshal, 23, East State Street, Salem, charged with selling at less than cost for allegedly selling cigarettes for less than state minimum at Once Stop Smoke and Vape LLC in Salem on Oct 17.

Michael Walz, 65, Cherry Lane, East Liverpool, was fined $200 for no hunting permit and a miscellaneous wildlife violation for killing raccoons with fly bait on property he didn’t own and for not having a valid hunting permit.

Joshua E. Brooks, 33, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500, with the fine suspended, for failure to file city income tax return for not filing an East Liverpool city income tax return for tax year 2023.

Shurl Stover, 46, Thomas Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 for two counts of failure to file tax return for failing to file sales tax returns for his business, Stovers Power Sports LLC, in Lisbon on Aug. 23 and Sept. 23. The charges were filed by the Ohio Department of Taxation.

A pretrial was set Feb. 13 for Hector Ariel Cuellar, 28, North Canton, charged with two counts of failure to file tax return for allegedly failing to file sales tax returns on Aug. 23 and Sept. 23 for a business known as Los Dorados, LLC in Salem. The charges were filed by the Ohio Department of Taxation.

Two counts of criminal damaging were dismissed against Logan Soptelean, 20, Canal Fulton, with costs taxed to the defendant. Soptelean was accused of causing damage to two vehicles by throwing objects into oncoming traffic on March 21 on state Route 172. Restitution was made through the probation department.

A pretrial was set Jan. 23 for Jack Arnott, 22, Poland, charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, OVI breath first offense and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set Jan. 28 for Susan Linger, 58, Richardson Avenue, Negley, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set Feb. 11 for Koby Daniel Plum, 23, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with improper/expired registration.

Two counts of no license were dismissed against Monica Blumenthal, 46, Lowellville, who was fined $200 for fictitious plate and speeding.

Jason Seidle, 40, Warren, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from driving onto roadway from place other than roadway

Glenn McClellan, 63, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for texting while driving.

Joseph Petty Jr., 54, Teegarden Road, Lisbon was fined $100 for speeding.

Debra Ehrhart, 70, Milbourne Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $20 for an equipment violation amended from traffic control devices.
