Grand Jury

LISBON — James Leonard, 41, Idaho Avenue, Salem was served recently with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for four counts of third-degree felony swatting, misdemeanor menacing by stalking and misdemeanor telecommunications harassment. The indictment alleges that on Jan. 6, Jan. 7, Jan. 14 and Feb. 16, Leonard reported misleading or false information to cause an emergency response. Leonard also allegedly engaged in a pattern of conduct that caused a female to believe she or a member of her family would be harmed. He allegedly also harassed the same victim by telephone during the same period.

Also served with secret indictments were:

– Lily Marshall, 22, North Lima, charged with fifth-degree possession of a fentanyl-related compound. The indictment alleges that Marshall was found to be in possession of the substance on March 18.

– Khadi Tisdale, 43, charged with non-support of dependents from August 2022 to August 2024.

Municipal

LISBON — A pretrial hearing was recently set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for a Salineville man accused of punching two men and a woman in the face at Walmart in Calcutta. The hearing was set Oct. 21 for David Earich, 38, Jefferson Street, Salineville, charged with assault, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct. Earich allegedly kicked a self-checkout register, damaging it. When he was stopped by an employee after doing so, Earich reportedly yelled at her. A man confronted Earich and was punched in the face. The man’s daughter was also reportedly punched in the face by Earich as was another man who attempted to intervene. When police arrived, Earich continued to act in a disorderly fashion.

Todd Ritchie, 47, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of fleeing. Ritchie, a motorcyclist, allegedly failed to stop after Salem police initiated a traffic stop on Union Avenue on July 26 and committed 13 moving violations while putting the officers pursuing him and the public at risk. Richie allegedly left the roadway for the bicycle path where people were walking. A pretrial for charges of driving under suspension and traffic control devices was set for Jan. 21.

A preliminary hearing was set Oct. 28 for Davon Moats, 22, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool charged with having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony. Following a request by adult probation, officers allegedly discovered a handgun in the apartment of Moats, a convicted felon, on Oct. 14.

A pretrial hearing was set Dec. 2 for Shane Gordon, 32, Borning Lane, East Liverpool. Charged with domestic violence. Gordon allegedly threatened a household member in East Liverpool on July 20 by saying he would kill the female and her dog.

A pretrial hearing was set Oct 24 for Mateo Alonzo, 38, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence. Alonzo allegedly grabbed his wife by the hair and pulled her around the home on Sept. 13.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 16 for James Kidder, 48, Ogden Street, East Liverpool, charged with receiving stolen property. Kidder allegedly was found to be in possession of a stolen desk and dehumidifier.

A pretrial hearing was set Dec. 17 for Robert Pledge, 42, Beechwood Road, Salem charged with domestic violence. Pledge allegedly poured gasoline on his wife during an altercation at a Salem residence on Oct. 11.

A preliminary hearing was set Oct. 31 for Frank Garnder, 29, Minerva Street, East Liverpool, charged with felony-five receiving stolen property. Gardner allegedly used a credit card stolen out of a vehicle to make $160 in purchases at Rich Oil in Wellsville on Dec. 25.

A pretrial hearing was set Oct. 21 for Elliott Springston, 41, Beechwood Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence. Springston allegedly slapped a female and tackled her in a driveway in East Liverpool on Aug. 9 and then fled the scene with his juvenile child. The victim had visibly injuries.

Terrinann McFarland, 58, Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $300 for non-compliance suspension and headlights.

A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 24 for Levi Peresta, 37 East Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence. Peresta allegedly punched a female in the stomach on Dec.5, 2021 and caused damage to the residence and the victims’ phone.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 16 for Brandy Pinkerton, 38, Idaho Drive, East Liverpool, charged with assault. Pinkerton allegedly began a physical altercation at a West Fourth Street home on Oct. 28, 2023 in which she pepper-sprayed a male and female.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 16 for Matthew Elser, 44, Market Street, Columbiana charged with unlawful restraint. Elser allegedly refused to let a woman leave a residence in Columbiana on Oct. 10. The victim advised that Elser restricted her ability to leave and took her phone, but she was eventually able to flee to a neighbor and call police.

A pretrial hearing was set Dec. 5 for John Tafe, Bayard Road, Homeworth, charged with domestic violence. Tafe allegedly came home intoxicated and brandished a firearm, saying he was “going to play russian roulette” while three young children were in the home on Oct. 13.

John Nesbitt, 40, Zelienople, Pa., was fined $750 for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools and sentenced to 90 days in jail (all suspended) as well as 20 hours of community service and two hours of probation. Nesbitt agreed to exchange $80 for sexual activity with an undercover agent on a known prostitution website and then traveled to East Palestine to do so on June 25.

A pretrial/preliminary hearing was set Oct, 28 for Garrett Craig, 30, Youngstown, charged with illegal use of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence, a felony in the third degree. Craig allegedly tried to destroy or dispose of a small plastic bag he retrieved from his pants during a traffic stop in which he was a passenger in Lisbon on Oct. 12. He was also allegedly found in possession of a digital scale that had narcotic residue on it.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 7 for Mincie Fluharty, 37, Damascus, charged with OVI.

Mackenzie Myers, 45, was fined $350 for driving under suspension, reasonable control and unauthorized use of plate. A charge of expired registration was dismissed.

A pretrial hearing was set for Desiree Pinkerton, 31, Vine Street East Liverpool, charged with speed.

Carl Carlson, 25, Pittsburgh, was fined $150 for equipment violation amended from speed.

Terrinann McFarland, 58, Lincoln Avenue. Salem was fined $300 for non-compliance suspension and headlights.

A pretrial hearing was set Nov. 7 for Lucas Oslin, 18, Poland, charged with speed.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 21 for Jordan McClain, 21, Steubenville, charged with OVI and reasonable control.

Shawn Tresmain, 32, Steubenville Pike, was fined $140 for driving under suspension and speed.

A pretrial hearing was set Dec. 30 for Branden Bartlett, 32, Valley Drive, Eats Liverpool, charged with failure to stop after an accident, assured clear distance and unsafe vehicle.

Ryan Dickey, 36, Metz Road, New Waterford was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 suspended and credit for three days served as well as two years of probation and 20 hours of community service for OVI and failure to control.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 7 for Robert Simms, 32, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with illegal plates, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 21 for Afton Parson, 41, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool charged with OVI and speed.

Kelley Reed-Green, 35, Sunset Drive, Wellsville, was fined $200 for theft. A charge of criminal trespass was dismissed. Reed-Green failed to scan and pay for two items and switched tickets on six others worth a total of $141 on March 31, 2022 at the Calcutta Walmart.

Marshall Miller, 20, Begholz, was fined $150 for speed.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 16 for Mary Kiehl, 35, State Route 558, Leetonia, charged with expired license, driving under suspension and unauthorized use of plate.

A pretrial hearing was set Nov. 19 for Raegan Loy, 21, Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with criminal mischief. Loy allegedly banged on the door of a residence on West Park Avenue in Columbiana and attempted to fight its occupants on Aug. 17. She reportedly also attempted to gain entry into the home.

A charge of driving under suspension was dismissed against Odie Bacorn, 41, Quincey Avenue, Columbiana.

Rickey Crockett, Continental Drive, Salem, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct Crockett engaged in a verbal altercation with another man at his apartment complex on July 1.

A charge of driving under suspension and headlights was dismissed against Mackenzie Myers, 45, Stow.

A pretrial hearing was set Jan. 16 for Larry Warner, 64, West Spruce Street, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension.

Two counts of failure to pay city income taxes were dismissed against Norma Linville, 48, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool.
