LISBON — A East Liverpool man who robbed a gas station customer who was pumping gas last fall entered guilty pleas to charges from two separate indictments, included an amended robbery offense.
Charles Shelva Lee Bell II, 21, Blakely Street, pleaded guilty to third-degree felony robbery and misdemeanors of assault and theft for coming up to the man at River City Fill Up in East Liverpool and spraying him with pepper spray, then taking his phone and car keys before fleeing the scene on Sept. 14, 2023. The robbery was originally a second-degree felony.
He also pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present for breaking the front window of an East Liverpool residence on April 7, 2023 and entering the occupied home to get his video game system.
Sentencing was scheduled for Dec. 19 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Nicholas Taulbee, 32, McKinley Avenue, Lisbon, was placed under three years of community control after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felony aggravated menacing for making threats on July 6 to shoot up the county Department of Job and Family Services building in Lisbon and threatening physical harm to a Children Services employee, which elevated the charge to a felony. As part of the community control, he was sentenced to 79 days in the county jail, but received credit for 79 days already served, leaving no time to serve.
