Court News

LISBON — A drug case against a Columbiana woman was dismissed without prejudice recently due to an evidentiary issue.

Marcie McMannis, 48, Albright Avenue, was indicted last year for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor for allegedly possessing oxycodone and drug paraphernalia on Jan. 12, 2023.

A motion filed by the state in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court asked for the case to be dismissed, noting the evidentiary issue and the state’s inability to proceed to trial until the issue is resolved. The motion noted that the state does intend to refile the case.

The motion was granted, with the case dismissed. Without prejudice means the case can be refiled.
