LISBON -- Two defendants charged with drug possession counts entered guilty pleas in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court recently.
Christian Radcliff, 36, Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing fentanyl on Dec. 26, 2022. Sentencing was set for Sept. 23.
Robert Hoperich, 70, Somerset Drive, Salem, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing amphetamine on March 2, 2023. Sentencing was set for Aug. 13.

LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, another theft charge was filed against Boardman contractor John P. Bartos III, 41, with a pretrial set for Oct. 17. The latest case alleged that Bartos accepted a $3,000 deposit for new doors to be installed at a woman's Metz Road, Unity Township, property, but never installed the doors and never provided a refund after multiple months, with the victim filing a statement to pursue criminal charges for theft, a misdemeanor. This case is the latest in a string of cases against Bartos for failing to do the work after clients had already paid him, with convictions in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
A jury trial was set Oct. 30 for Aaron Fisher, 35, state Route 534, Salem, charged with violating a protection order for allegedly sending a message through a juvenile to two people protected by a protection order against him on Feb. 23.
Kathleen McQuiston, 26, Prospect Street, Salem, was fined $150 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for assault, amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. McQuiston was accused of striking a man in the right side of his face on May 3 in Perry Township.
Jakob Graffius, 23, last known address East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $1,000 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 60 days suspended, leaving a balance of 120 days still to serve in jail, for two counts of assault and a single count of disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to make restitution of $1,685 to a male victim injured after he was punched in the throat several times during a fight at a Salem bar on April 28. During the Salem incident, he also punched a woman and made her go down to the ground. The second assault charge stemmed from Graffius striking a man multiple times with his hands and feet while outside a bar in Lisbon on Dec. 8, 2023. The disorderly charge stemmed from Graffius exposing his behind to a neighbor while intoxicated n June 30 in Salem.
Luke Sterling Beatty, 30, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from assault. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Beatty was accused of assaulting another man on Nov. 16, 2023 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set Oct. 15 for John Nesbitt, 40, Zelienople, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, traveling to East Palestine on June 25 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
A status conference hearing was set Sept. 23 and a court hearing was set Oct. 17 for Paul Young, 35, Wheeling, W.Va., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $240, arriving in East Palestine on Feb. 9 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
Bow Allen Yeater, 32, Leavittsburg, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Yeater responded to an undercover ad posted on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity in exchange for anything of value, traveling to East Palestine on April 29 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
Stephen Anthony Graham, 38, whose address was listed as the county jail, County Home Road, Lisbon, waived extradition as a fugitive from justice from Virginia, where he's wanted for a six-month prison sentence. He was taken into custody on July 15 at the jail.
A pretrial was set Oct. 15 for Ricky Crockett, 43, Continental Drive, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly being involved in an altercation on July 1 in Salem.
A pretrial was set Sept. 16 for Robert R. Smith, 47, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing on a Hammond School Road property in Madison Township, being caught on surveillance video on June 19 and June 21.
Matthew Pacillo, 44, Lackawanna, New York, was fined $350 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 85 days suspended and credit for two days served, leaving a balance of three days to serve in jail for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor amended from a felony. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Pacillo had cocaine concealed in his sock during an incident in East Palestine on July 6.
A pretrial was set Sept. 16 for Donald McElroy, 36, Cleveland Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a burnt used meth pipe at the Broadway Wharf in East Liverpool on May 22.
A pretrial was set Oct. 10 for David Sparks, 31, Green Lane, East Liverpool, charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, failure to stop after an accident, driving under suspension and failure to control.
A pretrial was set Sept. 16 for Michael Shane Fowler, 52, West Clark Street, East Palestine, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and traffic control devices.
A pretrial was set Sept. 17 for Shelly Schuster, 52, Pittsburgh, Pa., charged with OVI first offense and speeding.
Corey Brown, 35, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for OVI and a stop sign violation. His driver's license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
A pretrial was set Oct. 15 for Carl Carlson, 25, Pittsburgh, Pa., charged with speeding.
A pretrial was set Oct. 21 for Michael Caligiuri, 64, Southridge Drive, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set Oct. 24 for Tam Hua, 39, Natrona Heights, Pa., charged with speeding.
Nathaniel Cheatham Jr., 34, Youngstown, was fined $130 for driving under suspension and expired registration.
Amy Carr, 46, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Dakota Ogle, 20, North Sumner Street, East Palestine, was fined $50 for a tail lights violation.
Edil Masivo, 36, Jacksonville, Fla., was fine $75 for speeding.
Thomas Beadnell, 77, Rochester Road, Kensington, was fined $50 for a stop sign violation.
Holly Marie Craig, 41, Youngstown, was fined $30 for loud exhaust, with no fine for driving under suspension.
Kathy-Jo Tuder, 43, Sunnyside Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for lighted lights, amended from reckless operation.
