LISBON — An East Liverpool man, facing felony charges of strangulation and domestic violence in Columbiana County Municipal Court, was bound over to the grand jury.

Robert Simms, 32, Ohio Avenue, was bound over on charges of fourth-degree felony strangulation and fifth-degree felony domestic violence following an incident at his home on May 22. Simms allegedly ran into a neighbor’s home accusing a female of threatening to stab him. The victim allegedly had fought back and caused injuries to his face after he punched her in the head and began to strangle her.

Michael McDowell, 36, Chester Avenue, Wellsville was bound over to the grand jury on two counts of fifth-degree felony illegal use of food stamps and two counts of fifth-degree felony theft. McDowell allegedly used a SNAP card belonging to another person to purchase approximately $350 worth of groceries at King’s Carry Out in Wellsville on or around Feb. 21.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 15 for Juan Mitchell, 47, Grove Alley, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence. Mitchell allegedly pushed a female down several times at a residence on Grant Street in East Liverpool, on May 9, causing visible injuries.

John Detchon, 71, Waddell Street, Leetonia, was fined $100, sentenced to 30 days in jail suspended and 20 hours of community service for obstructing official business. Detchon told police officers executing an arrest warrant the subject, who was hiding inside, was not at the home on Nov. 17.

A pretrial hearing was set Sept. 3 for Lonnie Gilbert III, Depot Road, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing. Gilbert allegedly grabbed a female by her hair, struck her in the mouth with a vape, and threw her to the ground, causing bruising on her arms and legs, on June 5 at their shared residence.

A pretrial hearing was set Sept. 10 for William McFarland Jr., 32, Allen Drive, Salem, charged with assault, criminal damaging and criminal trespass from two incidents. McFarland allegedly came through a back door of a Salem residence on May 17 and assaulted a man and a juvenile child. McFarland also allegedly caused damage to a neighbor’s property on March 1 by moving a camper stored there without permission. McFarland is also charged with unauthorized use of a plate after a traffic stop on Feb. 6 in Salem.

A pretrial was set for July 15 for Keirsten Derosky, 27, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Derosky allegedly stole $160 from a parked car at East Liverpool High School on April 18 and was captured on security camera trying to open the doors of several cars.

A pretrial hearing was set June 24 for Patrick Duffield, 21, Riley Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault, contributing to an unruly child and resisting arrest. Duffield allegedly attacked a man with a pipe on Penn Avenue in East Liverpool on June 13 and then fled the scene when police arrived. He later resisted when officers attempted to handcuff him. Two juveniles were reportedly with Duffield during the assault.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 19 for Scott Ortenzio, 60, Youngstown, charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. Ortenzio allegedly agreed to exchange $160 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to Salem on June 6 to do so.

A pretrial hearing was set July 15 for Katelyn Blythe, 32, Prospect Street, Salem, charged with criminal damage and criminal trespass. Blythe allegedly stored her truck without permission at a garage in Salem on March 1.

A pretrial hearing was set June 20 for Jamie Rickerd, 36, Ravine Street, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony assault. Rickerd allegedly was transported to an area hospital after threatening to harm herself. She reportedly later hit and kicked several nurses and spit in a doctor’s face.

A pretrial hearing was set Sept. 1 for Hang Yin, Wadsworth, charged with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. Yin allegedly agreed to exchange $100 for sexual activity with an undercover agent and traveled to Salem on June 13 to do so.

Pamela Martin, 57, Myers Road, Kensington, was fined $250 for disorderly conduct amended from telecommunications harassment. She was also sentenced to 30 days suspended and 20 hours of community service and ordered to have no contact with the victim. Martin called the victim multiple times making threats of violence.

A pretrial hearing was set June 27 for Carl Gooding, 42, Putnam Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business. Gooding allegedly fled on foot when officers attempted to arrest him on an outstanding warrant on June 8 in East Liverpool.

Anitra Starks, 52, Hubbard, was fined $50 for expired registration amended from driving under suspension.

Charges of driving under suspension were dismissed against Blaine Vadino, 23, Longs Crossing Road, Lisbon.

A pretrial was set Sept. 10, for Samantha DiCello, 35, West Main Street, East Palestine, charged with OVI, reasonable control and no seat belt.

Leroy McEldowney, 71, Fairfield Street, East Liverpool, was fined $1,750 for OVI, failure to control and driving under suspension. He also received a three-year license suspension and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 120 suspended and credit for 13 served.

A pretrial hearing was set June 24 for Wayne Kenmur, 71, Libon Road, Lisbon, charged with speed.

Tyler Wells, 35, Prospect Street, Salem, fined $100 for wrongful entrustment.

A pretrial hearing was set Sept. 9 for Duarius Pinkett, Detroit, charged with speeding.

Samuel Holshue, 22, Pleasant View Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Sept. 10 for Joseph Dorsey, 42, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Aug. 15 for Brian Renfro, Lazy Drive, New Cumberland, changed with unauthorized use of plate and no seat belt.

A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Bryce Collier, 29, Minerva, charged with speed.

A pretrial was set Aug. 27 for Robert Levis, 38, East Fifth Street, Salem, charged with peeling tires.

A pretrial was set Sept. 9 for Devin Cureton, 31, Taylor, Mich.,charged with speed.

A pretrial was set Sept 16 for Richard Huran, 77, Mission Viejo, Calif., charged with speed in a school zone.

A pretrial hearing was set Aug. 20 for Dawn Greathouse, 53, Youngstown, charged with reasonable control, failure to stop after an accident and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
