LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 20 for Jakob Basham, 18, East Third Street, Salem, charged with third-degree felony intimidation and misdemeanors of underage consumption, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and domestic violence for allegedly attempting to harm a woman and backing her into a corner while holding a knife during a domestic May 30 in Salem. The woman said he was foaming at the mouth and threatening suicide and when officers arrived, he was observed to be intoxicated with alcohol, with four alcohol containers scattered throughout the home. After he was detained, he allegedly became enraged and was making threats against police officers and medical staff at Salem Regional Medical Center. He was also screaming vulgarities.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Aug. 5 for Justin Novak, 42, Stump Road, Minerva, charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI breath first offense and no seat belt for allegedly having a loaded firearm in his vehicle while allegedly impaired on June 9 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Aug. 13 for Robert J. Lutman, 48, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $80 from an undercover agent as a Salem Super Cruise special, traveling to Salem on June 8 for the meeting. An affidavit noted he was previously convicted of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools in January 2022 as part of a sex sting in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set Aug. 6 for Blair Floyd, 32, Niles, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $25, traveling to Salem for the meeting on June 7.

Jason Fleck, 39, Ravenna, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Fleck was accused of requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $180 and traveling to Salem on March 7 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set June 27 for Carl Gooding, 42, Putnam Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft, failure to comply, driving under suspension, reckless operation and operating all purpose vehicle on the roadway for allegedly failing to stop his ATV for East Liverpool police attempting a traffic stop as part of an investigation into a drug tip on June 7 in East Liverpool. The theft charge stemmed from him allegedly stealing 105 items totaling $928 from the Calcutta Walmart on April 30.

A pretrial was set June 27 for Michael Beaver, 36, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension and aggravated menacing for allegedly sending threatening text messages to a woman in East Liverpool, with the charge filed in June.

A pretrial was set June 24 for William Michalak, 38, Lisa Lane, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing a woman multiple times during a domestic on June 8 in Lisbon.

A pretrial was set Sept. 3 for Aaron Allison, 39, Latta Road, East Palestine, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly being within 500 feet of a protected person at a youth baseball game on June 8 in East Palestine.

Sean MacInnes, 30, Rubicon Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence, for flipping a bed while a woman was on it during a domestic March 17 in East Liverpool and grabbing her by the wrist when she was on the phone calling for help. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Aug. 6 for Jada Pack, 37, Erie Street, East Liverpool, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly stepping between officers and her son while they were trying to place him into custody on June 2 in East Liverpool.

Emma Weyand, 44, McKinnon Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served, for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay out of the Calcutta Walmart. Weyand was accused of failing to scan and pay for one item valued at $200 at the Calcutta Walmart on June 18.

A pretrial was set June 13 for Lonnie Gilbert III, 33, Depot Road, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing for allegedly grabbing a woman by the hair and throwing her to the ground on June 5 in Lisbon. He also allegedly threw a vape at her, injuring her mouth, and had threatened her with physical harm if she pressed charges or sought a protection order.

A pretrial was set Sept. 10 for Anna Baker, 36, Clearwater, Fla., charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct for allegedly refusing to give police the address where she was going when found intoxicated and pulling away when officers placed her under arrest on June 8 in East Palestine.

A pretrial was set Sept. 3 for Johnny Wilson Jr., 30, Opelousas, La., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for the agreed upon price of $80, arriving in Salem on June 9 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set June 18 for Hope Cronin, 24, Boring Lane, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly attempting to smack a phone out of a man’s hand and then hitting him with an empty water jug in the face as he was attempting to leave on June 7 in East Liverpool.

Delayne Meade, 25, Walnut Street, Leetonia, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, for disorderly conduct, amended from endangering children, for dropping her 5-year-old daughter off at the Leetonia Public Library without another adult and leaving in a van, leaving the child there alone for an hour and a half on Feb. 6. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a parenting course.

A pretrial was set Aug. 15 for Lori Macek, 53, Stagecoach Road, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for six items totaling $38.71 at the Calcutta Walmart on June 1.

A pretrial was set Aug. 8 for Todd Dean, 44, Aetna Street, Salem, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension for allegedly possessing a pipe for the use with dangerous drugs and a container with baggies for storage of dangerous drugs during a traffic stop on June 7 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Matthew Marshall, 23, South Union Avenue, Salem, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a clear baggie with a white crystal substance while a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police in Salem on June 7.

A pretrial was set Aug. 6 for Darreion Owens, 29, Warren, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing and throwing contraband over the fences of the federal prison in Elkton on June 8.

Glenda Knight, 67, North Market Street, Lisbon, was fined $1,000 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 140 days suspended and credit for two days served, leaving eight days to serve in jail and 30 days of electronically monitored house arrest for OVI and endangering children. Her driver’s license was suspended for two years and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Knight was accused of being impaired with her vehicle running behind Funland in Firestone Park in Columbiana with a child in the vehicle on July 4, 2023.

Margaret Vance, 68, Cedar Ridge Drive, Salem, was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for physical control amended from OVI, failure to control and failure to display valid sticker. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Sept. 9 for Catherine Sayre, 52, Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offenses and marked lanes.

A status hearing was set Sept. 3 and a court trial was set Sept. 11 for Cody DeHoff, 34, Beaver Circle, Columbiana, charged with possession of drug abuse instrument, no seat belt and expired license plates. During a traffic stop on Dec. 1, 2023 in Columbiana, DeHoff allegedly possessed a hypodermic needle.

Clinton Scott III, 46, Union Street, Columbiana, was fined $750 for five counts driving under suspension. No fine for failure to display valid sticker.

John Ash, 51, Chester, W.Va., was fined $30 after pleading no contest to a stop sign violation.

Daniel Prentice, 32, Wedgewood Street, East Liverpool, was fined $30 for failure to display valid sticker.

Karla Latona, 38, Woodville Road, Leetonia, was fined $50 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Summer Wareham, 32, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, was fined $75 for driving under suspension.

Lisa Ratliff, 40, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Kandel Pitts, 22, state Route 154, Negley, charged with restricted tinted glass.
