LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set May 20 for Bruce Smith, 53, Beverly Drive, Columbiana, charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly punching a woman several times in the face and abdomen, causing injury on May 11 in Columbiana.
A preliminary hearing was set June 27 for Johnny Sheppard, 43, Hamlin, W.Va., charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle for allegedly possessing a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle when he came to East Palestine on April 3.
Dwaynne Champney, 49, Brooklyn Avenue, Salem, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended, leaving five days to serve in jail, for two counts of domestic violence. Charges of aggravated menacing and aggravated trespass were dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. He was accused of picking up a woman and shoving her to the ground, then striking her in the back of the head with his fist and forcing another woman to the ground causing her head to hit the concrete on Sept. 20, 2023 in Salem Township. He had been told multiple times to leave the property that day and walked toward another man in an aggressive manner on the property.
A pretrial was set May 23 for David Gasior, 50, Walnut Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting a man on April 5 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Whitney Carter, 21, Garner Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly shoving another woman to the ground, resulting in a fight on Feb. 8 in East Liverpool. Carter was allegedly found to be the primary aggressor.
A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for Dannie Dabler, 36, Vine Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly yelling and throwing things at a man and hitting him during an incident May 13 in East Liverpool.
Michael Patrick Roberts, 39, Tallmadge, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $120, then driving to Salem on March 1 for the meeting. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour prostitution prevention course which was already completed.
Chester M. Potts, 51, Kirk Road, Columbiana, was fined $750 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and a 12-hour prostitution prevention course. Potts was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $240, traveling to East Palestine on May 11 for the meeting.
Wayne Johnson, 62, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 28 days suspended and credit for two days served, for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 10 hours community service. Johnson was accused of grabbing a woman’s hair during an argument and grabbing her neck on March 5 in Salem.
Crystal Hamrick, 38, Dyke Road, Rogers, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, leaving three days to serve in jail, for falsification. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to stay away from the victim. She was accused of reporting being assaulted by a co-worker at the Calcutta Pizza Hut on Feb. 26 when witnesses actually accused her of being the aggressor and the first to make physical contact with the other worker.
Nichole Chestnut, 30, Park Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $200 and sentenced to five days in jail for theft for failing to scan and pay for two items valued at $10 at the Dollar General in East Palestine on Sept.19, 2023.
Christopher McGlaughlin, 47, Irish Ridge Road, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for three days served, for drug paraphernalia and intoxication for possessing a straw with residue during a traffic stop on May 10 in East Liverpool.
Whitney Cline, 26, Independence Square, Wellsville, was fined $250 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for assault, amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Cline was accused of punching a man, who then allegedly pushed her to the ground and choked her on Nov. 7, 2023 in Wellsville.
Jessica Williams, 35, Main Street, Leetonia, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence, for causing or attempting to cause harm to another person on Feb. 24 in Leetonia.
A pretrial was set July 9 for Timothy Kuttler, 38, West Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling and swearing in front of citizens and police officers on May 11 in Lisbon.
A pretrial was set May 23 for Jason McEldowney, 37, Ravine Street, East Liverpool, charged with two counts of theft, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and two counts of criminal trespass for allegedly entering Dollar Tree in East Liverpool on March 4 after being told previously he was no longer allowed to enter. After being taken into custody, police found six food items he had taken from the store and placed under his coat. He was accused of stealing three items from Dollar General in East Liverpool on March 21. On April 30, he trespassed at Dollar Tree in East Liverpool. On May 11 in East Liverpool, he was accused of running from police and locking his door when told there was a warrant for his arrest
Marcy Johnson, 63, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 28 days suspended and credit for two days served, for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 10 hours community service. She was accused of throwing a partially full bottle of pop at a man during an argument and also throwing a lighter at him on March 5 in Salem.
A charge of violation of a protection order was dismissed against Heather Lynn Chiconella, 57, Logan Street, East Liverpool, for allegedly violating a protection order by confronting a man on April 27 in East Liverpool.
Susan Pritt, 40, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $400 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 81 days suspended and credit for nine days served, for theft, criminal trespass and drug paraphernalia. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Pritt failed to scan and pay for $232 worth of items from the Calcutta Walmart on March 16, 2022. On Oct. 3, 2023, she possessed a burnt glass pipe during a traffic stop in St. Clair Township.
Patrick Figley, 37, Cyland Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $1,225 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, endangering children and speeding. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Figley was accused of having a small child in the vehicle while he was impaired and driving on Aug. 6, 2023, in Salem Township.
Terrance Turner, 37, Niles, was fined $950 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and left of center. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
James Ramage, 38, Wellsville Avenue, Lisbon, was fined $350 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for physical control, amended from OVI, marked lanes and a turn signal violation. His driver’s license was suspended for 180 days, with driving privileges granted. A charge of weapons while intoxicated was dismissed. He was accused of having a gun in his vehicle while intoxicated on Feb. 18 in Perry Township.
Dominque Powell, 47, Main Street, Salem, was fined $1,190 and sentenced to 365 days in jail, with 225 days suspended, leaving 30 days to serve in jail and 110 days to serve in electronically monitored house arrest for OVI third offense, left of center, driving under suspension, open container and improper/expired registration. She was ordered to complete 60 hours community service.
A pretrial was set July 9 for Erika Timmons, 44. Cartwright Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense, distracted driving and left of center.
A pretrial was set July 16 for Anthony Cook, 35, Beachwood, charged with OVI first offense, driving under suspension, no seat belt and failure to display valid sticker.
Dwayne Walker, 37, Cleveland, was fined $300 for tinted glass, speeding and two counts driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for Ross Chaplow, 42, Metz Road, Columbiana, charged with driving under suspension and failure to signal.
A pretrial was set May 13 for Kathryn Unick, 34, New Springfield, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.
