LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set May 6 for Ryan Pritt, 42, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felonies domestic violence and strangulation for allegedly knowingly causing or creating a substantial risk of physical harm to another by means of strangulation or suffocation in East Liverpool on April 19.

A preliminary hearing was set for Austin Bussey, 25, New Springfield, charged with third-degree felony failure to comply with order or signal of police officer flee and elude, fifth-degree felony obstructing official business, driving under suspension, and operation with disregard for safety for allegedly leading Columbiana police on a pursuit at speeds up to 110 miles per hour on his motorcycle on state Route 7 and Heck Road on Friday, before abandoning the bike at a campground on Brushville Road. Bussey later turned himself in.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial were set June 6 for Seth Barron, 30, Camden, Ariz., charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm in motor vehicle, engaging in prostitution, and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $140, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements, and being found to be intoxicated and in possession of a loaded 9 mm handgun in East Palestine on Friday.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial were set May 20 for Michelle Murphy, 42, Alpha Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, no operator’s license- second or more, and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia for allegedly taking a vehicle from Wilbert Avenue in East Liverpool and knowingly using it without the owner’s consent from April 2-5.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial were set June 3 for Jeremy Smith, 44, Summit Drive, Salineville, charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly being found in possession of a controlled substance at his home in Salineville on Jan. 27.

A pretrial was set July 16 for Cody Pierson, 42, Sandy Creek Road, Minerva, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a woman by the arm and throwing her on the wall at his residence in West Township on April 14.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Riley Waite, 20, West North Avenue, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing another man and charging him and punching him on Saturday in East Palestine.

Cubanola Martin, 70, 14th Street, Wellsville, was fined $450 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended and credit for two days served, leaving three days left to serve, for aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business for not stopping when officers activated their overhead lights for a traffic stop, then stopping, getting out of the car, and starting to walk away. When placed under arrest, he was pulling his hands away and yelling he was going to kill the officers on Aug. 8 in Wellsville.

A pretrial was set May 6 for Bill McFarland, 52, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, charged with menacing for allegedly making a homicidal threat against another man and kicking down the bathroom door while the man was in the bathroom in Columbiana on Saturday.

A pretrial was set June 24 for Timothy Stewart, 33, Wall, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $270, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements, in East Palestine on April 13.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Jerry Burns, 46, Oil City, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad posted on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $220, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements, in East Palestine on April 26.

Justin M. Peters, 48, Waynesburg, was fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 90 days suspended, leaving zero days left to serve, for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent in exchange for $80 and driving to Salem on Jan. 26 for the meeting, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements. Peters was also ordered to perform 20 hours of community service.

A pretrial was set June 27 for Brianna Marie Nichols, 22, Warren, charged with soliciting for allegedly traveling to a predetermined meeting location to have sexual activity with an undercover officer who responded to her ad on a known prostitution website, and using the cell phone found in her possession to make the arrangements, in East Palestine on April 24.

A pretrial was set July 8 for Damien Elmore, 43, Knoxville, Tenn., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct in exchange for $280 from an undercover agent, using the cell phone found in his possessions to make the arrangements, in Salem on Saturday.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial were set May 9 for Larry Maglicco, 46, Dayton, charged with fifth-degree felony improper handling of firearms, engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools, and drug paraphernalia for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity in exchange for methamphetamine, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements, in East Palestine on Sunday. Maglicco was also found with a methamphetamine pipe, 12.7 grams of methamphetamine when weighed, and a loaded Canik 9 mm firearm he failed to disclose to officers.

A pretrial was set July 22 for William Courtney, 25, Pittsburgh, Pa., charged with possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $220, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements in East Palestine on Friday.

Gerald Thomas, 58, Wintersville, was fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 90 days served, leaving zero days left to serve, for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct in exchange for $200 from an undercover agent in Salem on Feb. 3. Thomas was also ordered to perform 20 hours of community service.

A pretrial was set July 16 for Michael Edward Platek, 55, Bellevue, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for money, using the cell phone found in his possession to make the arrangements, in East Palestine on April 9.

A pretrial was set June 25 for Anthony Andrenok, 34, Jefferson, Pa., charged with failure to signal, driving under suspension, and drug paraphernalia, for allegedly being found with a crack pipe with residue during a traffic stop at the Walmart Calcutta on March 27.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Heather Chiconella, 57, Logan Street, East Liverpool, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly coming to a residence where the protected individual lives in East Liverpool on Saturday.

K Lyn Hammonds McGee, 30, was fined $250 for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly being found with one glass crack pipe with residue in Columbiana on Jan. 26.

A pretrial was set June 17 for Shaun Cooper, 36, Chester, W.V., charged with theft, driving under suspension, and open container for allegedly stealing another man’s wallet who he was giving a ride to after Cooper’s car became stuck on railroad tracks in East Liverpool on Feb. 7.

A motion hearing was set May 20 for David Vallera, 60, Wood Street, Wellsville, charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs- first offense and failure to control.

Lewis Miller, 35, Grant Street, Lisbon, was fined $1,430 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 120 days suspended and credit for 10 days served, leaving 50 days left to serve, for criminal damaging, OVI- second offense, failure to control, and open container. He was ordered to perform 20 hours of community service. On June 10, 2023, Miller kicked in the back door of another person’s apartment, causing damage to the door. On May 3, 2023, Miller was arrested for OVI during a traffic stop in Madison Township.

A pretrial was set June 27 for Kurt Kampfer, 61, Lisbon Street, Leetonia, charged with OVI first offense, speed, and right of way public safety vehicle.

Candy Brewton, 40, state Route 14, East Palestine, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with three days suspended, and credit for three days served following completion of a driver intervention program (DIP), leaving zero days left to serve, for physical control, amended from OVI first offense. Brewton was also ordered to perform 20 hours of community service.

A pretrial was set May 13 for Nathaniel Joy, 29, Stanton Drive, Columbiana, charged with driving under OVI suspension and improper/expired registration.

A charge of possession of marijuana against Isaiah Humphries, 22, Canton, was dismissed.

A pretrial was set July 15 for Carl Ours, 21, Industry, Pa., charged with failure to comply, reckless operation, stop sign, and failure to display valid sticker for allegedly not stopping his motorcycle in East Liverpool after police turned on overhead lights and attempted to pull him over on Saturday. He led police on a chase that reached speeds of 100 miles per hour.

A pretrial was set June 24 for Ike Omran, 52, Canfield, charged with speeding.

Wilson Pacheco Lopez, 24, Salem Unity Road, Salem, was fined $75 for driving alone on permit and speed.

A pretrial was set July 16 for Odie Bacorn, 41, Quincy Avenue, Columbiana, charged with license forfeiture.
