LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases against Anthony Allan Thompson, 39, Monroeville, Pa., were bound over to the county grand jury for charges of fourth-degree felony promote prostitution-transport across state lines for sex for hire and misdemeanors of procuring and soliciting. A charge of possessing criminal tools was dismissed. Thompson was accused of allegedly posting an ad on a known prostitution website offering sexual acts for hire. Thompson was contacted by an undercover agent and offered to provide sexual acts in exchange for $200 and then offered a female for sex acts and transported her to the location in East Palestine on April 14.

Cases against Ryan David Blystone, 45, Claibourne Street, East Liverpool, were bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanors of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker. During a traffic stop attempt on April 15 in East Liverpool, Blystone accelerated at a high rate of speed and fled before crashing on state Route 267, fleeing on foot and being found in an area of brush. He had a clear glass smoking device with visible residue in his possession.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set April 29 for Jonathan Shellenberger, 34, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, charged with second-degree felony endangering children, third-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a juvenile girl by the arm, shoulders and neck area and throwing her into the residence on Gavers Road, Hanoverton on April 13.

Steven James Bachman, 52, Franklin, Pa., was fined $1,250 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools and possession of drugs, amended from a felony to a misdemeanor, with two counts drug paraphernalia dismissed. Bachman was accused of responding to an undercover ad and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, arriving in East Palestine on May 12, 2023 for the meeting. He was also found in possession of a digital scale with white residue and an alleged crack cocaine pipe, along with 2.49 grams of cocaine.

A pretrial was set July 18 for James Montgomery, 75, Bye Road, East Palestine, charged with sexual imposition, a misdemeanor, for an alleged incident in the back seat of a vehicle on Oct. 28, 2023 with a female passenger.

Benjamin Barber, 31, Fairview Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 100 days suspended and credit for 62 days served, leaving 18 days still to serve in jail for domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Barber was accused of striking a man in the face several times with closed fists on Feb. 20 in Salem.

A pretrial was set May 2 for Zachary Perry, 29, Cadmus Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly threatening a woman who said he made her feel unsafe on March 9 in East Liverpool. He was also fined $1,000 and sentenced to 14 days in jail, with the 14 days suspended and $900 of the fine suspended for two counts of failure to file city income tax return. He was ordered to file all returns and taxes as they come due in the city of East Liverpool, where he failed to file city income tax returns in 2022 and 2023.

A pretrial was set May 2 for Michael Nagel, 39, Washington Street, Leetonia, charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct for allegedly shouting at law enforcement while in the roadway near the Leetonia police station, Main Street, Leetonia on April 22, persisting in shouting and making threatening gestures with his hands after being told to stop. He also failed to comply with police orders to sit in the rear of a cruiser due to his concerning state of mind and disorderly behavior near the intersection of Front and Chestnut streets, walking away from an officer and being taken to the ground after a foot pursuit and resisting arrest.

Ashlee Sheppard, 22, Mecca Road, Kensington, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving 19 days still to serve in jail, for assault. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay away from the juvenile victim. Sheppard was accused of striking a girl with open fists all over her body on March 21, 2023 on Salem Alliance Road, Salem.

Charles Lewis, 41, May Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 16 days suspended and credit for 14 days served, for domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 30 hours community service. Lewis made threats against a woman on April 8 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set June 18 for Tiffany Woolley, 37, Vine Street, East Liverpool, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly talking with a friend of a protected person and saying the protected person should drop the order on April 1 in East Liverpool.

Jayden Long, 22, Alliance, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for two days served, leaving one day still to serve, for disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Long was accused of yelling and jerking the steering wheel from the passenger seat while a vehicle was in transit, then became disorderly and was yelling at a woman in a parking lot in Perry Township after being told to stop on Jan. 27.

Leeana Shaulis, 25, East Palestine, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended, leaving five days still to serve, for theft. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service, make restitution to Gorby’s Grocery for $200 and stay out of Gorby’s Grocery in East Palestine. Shaulis was accused of taking $200 while employed at Gorby’s Grocery in East Palestine on Oct. 28, 2022 by failing to deposit drops from the register, allegedly keeping the money for herself.

Brandon Trybend, 47, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 and sentenced to three days in jail, with credit for three days served, for disorderly conduct for being intoxicated and yelling profanity at hospital staff and patients in the Salem emergency room on April 21 in Salem.

Ryan Lilly, 26, Haywood Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 for litter and storage of furniture for a large amount of junk, debris and indoor furniture outside the house on Feb. 14 in East Liverpool.

James Howell, 58, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $400 for drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension for possessing a burnt silver pipe during a traffic stop in East Liverpool on April 13.

Cristal Cronin, 49, Hammondsville, was fined $400 for drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension for possessing a burnt glass pipe during a traffic stop on June 6, 2023 in St. Clair Township.

Chad Smith, 52, Hubbard, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. On Jan. 11, he had a crack cocaine pipe in his possession during a traffic stop in East Palestine.

Austin Bussey, 25, New Middletown, was fined $75 for possession of drugs for possessing marijuana on Oct. 19, 2023 in Columbiana.

Luke Janci, 29, Walnut Street, Leetonia, was fined $1,020 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 84 days suspended and credit for six days served in a driver intervention program for OVI, park on highway, driving under suspension and improper/expired registration. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and his driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted.

James Ziser, 66, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, was fined $50 for failure to control.

Sandra Hayward, 74, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $50 for driving while texting.

Robert Katus, 42, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $30 for speeding.

A court trial was set June 3 for Preston Snedeker, 19, state Route 154, Negley, charged with right of way public safety vehicle.

Caitlyn Olinger, 22, New Castle, Pa., was fined $250 for wrongful entrustment.

Ashley Helms, 29, Austintown, was fined $50 for speeding and no license.

Rebecca Duncan, 35, Youngstown, was fined $100 for speeding.

A pretrial was set June 17 for Martin Heater II, 45, Kings Court, Leetonia, charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set July 15 for Richard Bangor, 69, Highland Colony Street, East Liverpool, charged with speeding.

Trina Jones, 25, Oak Street, Leetonia, was ordered to pay just court costs for driving under suspension.
