LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Dana Inherst, 33, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly forcefully grabbing a hold of a woman and ripping the necklace from her neck and then slamming her to the ground on March 23 in East Liverpool.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set April 11 for Kevin Neely, 42, Youngstown, charged with second-degree felony burglary, fourth-degree felony assault on peace officer and misdemeanors of resisting arrest, obstructing official business, criminal damaging and menacing for allegedly breaking into a house in Wellsville and sleeping on the living room floor on April 1. The resident reported a man he had never seen before was sleeping in his living room. When officers asked the man his name, he allegedly said his name was "sweet thang," threatened the resident when police arrested him and resisted arrest. While being placed in the cruiser, he allegedly kicked an officer in the leg.
A preliminary hearing was set April 11 for Aaron Fisher, 34, state Route 534, Salem, charged with fourth-degree felony violate protection order for allegedly making contact with two protected parties by advising two juveniles to deliver a specific message to them on Feb. 23 in Salem.
A pretrial was set June 24 for Candice Desanzo, 44, North Market Street, East Palestine, charged with endangering children for allegedly allowing a child to exit the home unknowingly and enter North Market Street at Highland Avenue, East Palestine wearing only a diaper and T-shirt on April 1. She was accused of failing to secure the home after several reported issues of the child leaving the home and running into the street.
A pretrial was set June 3 for Nathan Allen Gove, 46, Massillon, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $100 from an undercover agent, and then driving to Salem on March 31 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set June 24 for Heath Alan Tawney, 50, Williamstown, W.Va., charged for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with an alleged female in exchange for $160, traveling to East Palestine on April 1 for the meeting.
Sean Hutton, 35, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was fined $500 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for falsification. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. On Sept. 10, 2023, Hutton was accused of reporting to police that someone entered his East Palestine residence while he was sleeping, stole his phone and car keys and stole his vehicle from his driveway. Police had learned the vehicle was crashed in Darlington Township, Pennsylvania. Hutton returned to the police station later and admitted he lied and had crashed the vehicle the night before.
A pretrial was set April 8 for Placido Martinez, 47, Center Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting a woman inside his vehicle during a traffic stop on April 1 in East Liverpool.
Henry Mills, 54, West Duquesne Street, Columbiana, was fined $200 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for 30 days already served, for assault for striking another man in the face with his fist on March 2 in Columbiana.
Wesley Dickson, 18, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was fined $1,225 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 159 days suspended and credit for one day served in jail and three days served in a driver intervention program, leaving 17 days yet to serve in jail for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, amended from a felony to a misdemeanor, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and a stop sign violation. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Dickson fled from an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper attempting a traffic stop on March 1 in Wellsville, failing to stop at numerous stop signs, passing on a double yellow line and reaching speeds of 70 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood.
Shannon Mecum, 34, Vine Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 165 days suspended and credit for 14 days served, leaving one more day to serve in jail for domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. Mecum caused physical harm to a man by pulling his hair and throwing him around during a domestic on March 19 in East Liverpool.
Megan Detchon, 34, Waddell Street, Leetonia, was ordered to serve three days in jail for obstructing official business and for violating her probation for charges of identification fraud and obstructing official business. She was also fined $250 for the most recent of the obstruction charges. Detchon was found hiding behind the furnace in the basement of the Leetonia home on June 27, 2023 when police were trying to serve her with an arrest warrant from Boardman. The probation violation involved a 2022 case.
Christopher Williams, 34, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $350 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served, for obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Williams was intoxicated on the ground yelling profanities in Salem on Dec. 31, 2023 and refused to give his ID to police.
A jury trial was reset for May 8 for Anthony Ray, 32, West Fifth Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly assaulting a man on Dec. 11, 2022 in Wellsville.
Joyce Houshour, 53, Cleveland Street, Salem, was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended, leaving one day to serve for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and stay out of Salem Walmart, where she failed to scan $88 worth of merchandise and tried to leave without paying on Dec. 26, 2023.
Ryan Rygiel, 50, state Route 7, New Waterford, was fined $350 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. On June 9, 2023, Rygiel was found walking on state Route 14 in Columbiana while impaired and refused to identify himself to officers.
A pretrial was set May 21 for James Artrup, 35, Bye Road, Rogers, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing two meth pipes with residue during a traffic stop in Columbiana on March 29.
A pretrial was set April 8 for Kayla Clingerman, 37, Youngstown, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing a small bag with an unknown residue which she said contained methamphetamine on April 1 in Salem. Police had responded for a suspicious person and when officers attempted to make contact, she began to walk away and she spit out the small plastic bag from her mouth.
A pretrial was set May 21 for Peggy Bishop, 46, John Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a meth pipe with residue during a traffic stop on March 29 in Columbiana.
A pretrial was set June 4 for Phillip James, 64, South Euclid, charged with obstructing official business, failure to stop after an accident, stopped school bus and assured clear distance. James allegedly passed a stopped school bus on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township on Jan 4 and allegedly provided false information during the crash investigation on Jan. 5.
Tristan Jeffries, 27, Prospect Street, Salem, was fined $1,980 and sentenced to two consecutive jail terms for two counts of OVI, no valid license, speeding, failure to reinstate, disregard for safety, no license and use of unauthorized plate. For one OVI case, he was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended and credit for four days served, leaving six days to still serve in jail. For the other OVI, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and his driver's license was suspended for three years.
A pretrial was set June 24 for Bridget Barbato, 29, East Friend Street, Columbiana, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath and left of center.
Gary Smith, 63, Warren, was fined $300 and sentenced to three days in jail for driving under suspension and marked lanes.
Bridget McKinnon, 37, Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for loud exhaust, expired registration and driving under suspension.
Jason Conkle, 45, Hollywood, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for driving under suspension and expired registration.
Kaleb Brown, 23, Columbia Street, Leetonia, was fined $210 for assured clear distance, tinted glass, reasonable control and no license, amended from driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set May 6 for Levi Stahl, 43, Darlington, Pa., charged with speeding.
A pretrial was set May 20 for Roger Beckett Jr., 27, Sherrodsville, charged with speeding-school zone.
Tomas Castro, 31, South Lundy Avenue, Salem, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.
Caleb Horton, 19, Union Ridge Road, Rogers, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.
Colleen Ritterspach, 53, Beverly Drive, Columbiana, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set May 14 for Megan Gregg, 34, 20th Street, Wellsville, charged with assured clear distance.
A pretrial was set June 24 for Zachary Plumley, 33, Rochester Road, East Rochester, charged with use of unauthorized plate.
Brandon Hoschar, 28, Austintown, was fined $200 for driving under suspension.
Colton Merrill, 20, Wyoming Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.
Richard Fishel, 21, Metz Road, Columbiana, was fined $225 for driving under suspension and failure to control.
