LISBON — A Poland man accused of drug charges, fleeing and tampering with evidence entered a guilty plea recently to charges from three separate cases.
Matthew Hormel, 41, pleaded guilty to third-degree felonies of tampering with evidence, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and two counts aggravated possession of drugs, with sentencing set for June 3 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
A charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs was dismissed.
Hormel fled from a sheriff’s deputy attempting a traffic stop in Salem and was also observed allegedly throwing contraband out the window on Oct. 23, 2023. On March 7, 2023 and July 29, 2023, he possessed methamphetamine in an amount equal or greater than bulk, but less than five times bulk.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Steven Summers, 48, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fourth-degree felony, with sentencing set for June 20, for possessing cocaine on April 1, 2022 in an amount equal or greater than 5 grams, but less than 10 grams.
