LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set March 18 for Kaden Desellem, 21, Black Road, Lisbon, charged with third-degree felony intimidation and misdemeanors of aggravated menacing, domestic violence and resisting arrest. Desellem allegedly threatened to slice sheriff deputies if they entered a residence on Black Road during a domestic violence investigation on March 8 when he allegedly threw an empty can at a woman’s head, striking her. On March 9 while deputies were trying to serve him with charges for the March 8 incident, he allegedly refused to obey commands, attempting to barricade himself inside after pulling away from a deputy and clenching onto a door. He also struggled to get out of the grasp of deputies and refused to put his hands behind his back, being taken to the ground for apprehension.

A preliminary hearing was set March 18 for Cody Lawson, 27, West Perry Street, Salem, charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly striking a woman in the ribs and mouth and ripping her hair during a domestic dispute March 9 in Salem.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set March 18 for James Perry, 43, East Ruby Drive, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a juvenile by the throat and pushing her against a door during a domestic on March 9 in St. Clair Township.

A preliminary hearing was set March 18 for Nicolas Ortiz, 24, Dover, charged with third-degree felony compelling prostitution and fifth-degree felonies of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, importuning and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing online as a 15-year-old female in exchange for $100 and then driving to Salem on March 8 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set March 28 for Dennis Quinn, 63, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly sending a text message to a protected person on March 1 in Rogers.

Sentencing was set March 21 for Jason Jones, 44, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, who pleaded guilty to aggravated menacing and two counts of domestic violence for an incident March 8 in Wellsville when he pushed a woman down, hit her in the head twice and kicked her. He had also threatened to punch her and knock her out.

Brigit Young, 55, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served for two separate counts of theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to pay $754 restitution to Joseph Radman. Young previously worked at the Feed & Sing Restaurant outside Washingtonville as a cook, but was let go and on June 21, 2023 came to the restaurant to pick up her last paycheck. While there, she entered the office and stole $100 out of the change bag and an additional $601 out of a deposit bag. She was seen on video going in and out of the office, stuffing items into her pocket. On Oct. 19, 2022, she stole three packs of steaks and two bags of shrimp from Salem Giant Eagle.

Nicole Stout, 41, East Eighth Street, Salem, was fined $250 and received a suspended 180-day jail term for theft. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Stout stole $120 worth of merchandise from the Salem Walmart on Dec. 23, 2023.

A pretrial was set June 3 for Richard Hoyt, 53, listed as homeless in East Liverpool, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly being found in the St. Clair Laundry Room in East Liverpool on March 8 after previously being trespassed from the property.

Joshua Burkett, 47, Railroad Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to one day in jail, with credit for one day already served, for possessing drug abuse instruments for having a syringe in his possession on Sept. 8, 2023 in St. Clair Township.

Lisa Kidder, 52, Idaho Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served for assault, amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Kidder was accused striking a relative in the wrist with a piece of wood after a personal issue between them over keys and money on July 2, 2023.

Steven Conkle, 72, Dakota Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 60 days in jail, with 50 days suspended, leaving a balance of 10 days to serve for negligent assault. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. The charge stemmed from an incident May 15, 2022 when his loaded 9mm gun fell out of a known faulty holster and discharged a 9mm round, striking and injuring a woman at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in East Liverpool.

Saquoya Kinney, 23, Warren, was fined $500 and sentenced to two days in jail, with credit for two days served, for obstructing official business for initially declining to turn over her cell phone during a sex-for-hire operation on Dec. 26 in East Palestine.

Jacob Clark, 31, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from violating a protection order. Another charge of violating a protection order was dismissed. Clark was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. He was accused of violating a protection order by texting the protected person on April 28, 2023 and also showed up at her work place.

A pretrial was set May 30 for Jerry Malone II, 43, West Fifth Street, Salem, charged with drug paraphernalia and theft for allegedly using a product tag from a different item to scan a pair of boots, with an electronic charging device tucked inside the boots, at Salem Walmart on Dec. 17, 2023. On Nov. 6, 2023 during a traffic stop in Salem, he possessed a blue straw with white powder residue.

A pretrial was set May 20 for Dreyvan Walton, 27, Eric Street, Wellsville, charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly being in possession of a stolen Chevy Cobalt from Don Johnson Motors, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, during a traffic stop on Feb. 27 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set June 6 for Tracy Miller, 49, West Salem Street, Columbiana, charged with possession of drugs for allegedly possessing buphrenorphine pills in her purse during an arrest Jan. 5, 2023 for an unrelated matter in Columbiana.

A motion hearing was set April 30 for Ian Pagan, 18, Youngstown, charged with possessing a defaced firearm and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. During a traffic stop on Oct. 28, 2023, Pagan allegedly possessed a firearm with a scratched off serial number, with the magazine for the firearm found in the center console. The gun had been located inside the center console behind the paneling.

A pretrial was set June 3 for Richard Austin, 34, St. George Street, East Liverpool, charged with weapons while intoxicated for allegedly having a loaded 9 mm handgun in his waistband during an incident March 9 when he was allegedly under the influence.

A pretrial was set March 21 for David Lindner, 52, Enon Valley, Pa., charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and marked lanes.

A jury trial remains set for March 20 for Robert Daughterty, 31, Continental Drive, Salem, charged with OVI second offense and speeding.

Shelly Downey, 52, South Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $875 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program for physical control. Her driver’s license was suspended for 180 days, with driving privileges granted. She was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.

Colton Cindrich, 24, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $205 for reckless operation, amended from OVI first offense, and assured clear distance.

Angel Bowles, 50, Minerva Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and left of center.

Hayden Reynolds, 23, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker.

Brandon Douglas Sr., 42, Youngstown, was fined $100 for no license.

Kimberly Jackson, 38, Robin Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension, with a charge of expired plates dismissed.

A pretrial was set May 13 for Kathryn Unick, 34, New Springfield, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

Tammy Sue Merriman, 53, Martha Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

Maya Reeveley, 19, Poland, was fined $100 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.

William Acevedo, 56, North Main Street, Columbiana, was fined $100 for speeding.

Jacob Feltrop, 28, Commerce Street, Negley, was fined $100 for no license.

Lamont Bickley Jr., 23, Ambrose Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $330 for no seat belt and two counts of driving under suspension.

Dillion Ray Jordan, 30, Tiltonsville, was fined $50 for driving under suspension, with a charge of unauthorized plate dismissed.

Chelsea McGuire, 30, Mound Street, Salem, was fined $330 for restricted tinted glass and two counts of driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set May 2 for Samantha Adams, 40, Clarks Mill Road, Hammondsville, charged with driving under suspension and left of center.
