LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set April 1 for Alan Summers, 57, West Egypt Road, Minerva, charged with second-degree felony burglary, fifth-degree felony breaking and entering and misdemeanors of aggravated trespass and two counts of criminal damaging for allegedly attempting to break into a residence on Knox School Road, West Township on March 22 by putting a ladder up to the kitchen window, breaking it out and attempting to gain entry. An affidavit said he admitted to breaking into the detached garage on the property by breaking a window and leaving his shoes and stocking cap inside the garage.
An assault case against Paul W. Jackson, 70, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was dismissed after the court found he was not competent to stand trial and likely wouldn’t be restored to competency by the maximum amount of time allowed by law. Jackson was ordered held in the custody of Heartland Behavioral Healthcare pending further order from county Probate Court regarding a civil commitment. He had been accused of assaulting hospital staff at East Liverpool City Hospital after being told he couldn’t go outside to smoke on Sept. 20, 2023.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 13 for Michael McDowell, 36, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, charged with fifth-degree felonies of two counts theft and two counts illegal use of food stamps/coupons and misdemeanor criminal trespass for allegedly going through the drive-thru of King’s Carryout and making a purchase of $31.23 after being told by the manager that he wasn’t allowed on the grounds on Feb. 21 in Wellsville. He was also accused of taking the numbers and pins from someone else’s food assistance card and using it for purchases of $325 at Save A lot and $31.23 at King’s Carryout, both in Wellsville.
A preliminary hearing was set April 1 for Dana Inherst, 33, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly forcefully grabbing a woman and ripping the necklace from her neck and forcefully slamming her to the ground when she suffered a visible injury to the back of her head on March 23 in East Liverpool.
Patrick Williams, 35, Sharon, Pa., was fined $500 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. He also must forfeit $200 to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. Williams was accused of requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $200 from an undercover agent and traveling to Salem on Oct 13, 2023 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set June 13 for Keith Gary Geyer, 45, North Royalton, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $120 from an undercover agent and traveling to Salem on March 23 for the meeting.
A sentencing hearing was set April 8 for Joshua J. Fayak, 42, Steubenville, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Fayak was accused of requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $160 from an undercover agent, and then driving to Salem on March 22 for the meeting.
Robert Lewis, 39, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from assault. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. Lewis was accused of fighting with a man, swinging at him and pushing him to the ground causing injury on Nov. 22, 2022 in East Liverpool.
Jakob Bell Sr., 33, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, was fined $200 and sentenced to 20 days in jail, with credit for 10 days served, leaving a balance of 10 days to serve, for theft and drug paraphernalia. Bell was accused of possessing suspected methamphetamine and a suspected crack pipe and a tear off with white residue when taken into custody for a theft warrant on March 16 in Columbiana. On January 31, he transferred $925 from someone else’s debit card to his cash app after being given permission to only charge $5 for gas. He was ordered to pay $925 restitution to the victim.
Jamie Lynn Miller, 48, Pancake Clarkson Road, Rogers, was fined $250 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Miller was accused of stealing a vehicle battery from Calcutta Auto Parts on March 8.
A pretrial was set April 4 for Thomas Dennis, 45, East Fifth Street, East Liverpool, charged with disorderly conduct and domestic violence for an alleged incident Jan. 11 in East Liverpool and for causing a scratch and bloody lip to a woman’s face during a domestic on March 22 in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set April 4 for Austin Lowe, 27, Apple Blossom Trail, Beloit, charged with violation of a protection order for going to a church where a protected person works on March 18 in Butler Township after previously being told he’s not allowed on church grounds or near the person in question.
A pretrial was set May 13 for Crystal Hamrick, 38, Dyke Road, Rogers, charged with falsification for allegedly reporting being assaulted by a co-worker at the Calcutta Pizza Hut on Feb. 26 when witnesses actually accused her of being the aggressor and the first to make physical contact with the other worker.
William Manypenny III, 33, Garfield Road, Salem, was fined $200 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for theft. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay out of Salem Walmart. On Dec. 7, 2023, Manypenny failed to scan and pay for $302 worth of items at the Salem Walmart.
Ryan Thompson, 41, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 and sentenced to 19 days in jail, with credit for 19 days served, for drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass and theft for trespassing at the Stables in Salem, stealing candy and possessing a glass pipe with residue on March 6.
Crystal Slagle, 52, state Route 154, Rogers, was fined $200 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay out of the Calcutta Walmart. Slagle placed several items in reusable bags she brought with her and tried to leave without paying at the Calcutta Walmart for 86 items valued at $428.
A pretrial was set May 30 for Jared Ault, 38, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI refusal first offense, reasonable control and obstructing official business. Ault allegedly refused to exit the patrol car for several minutes after arriving at the Columbiana Police Department following a crash while allegedly impaired on March 23. He allegedly had to be pulled from the vehicle and carried into the police station.
Sentencing was set April 8 for Bryar Smith-Detwiler, 18, Walnut Street, Rogers, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of OVI first offense and reasonable control.
Tyler Gottlich, 22, Waynewood Drive, New Waterford, was fined $1,075 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI, failure to stop after an accident and traffic control device. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. A charge of marijuana paraphernalia was dismissed.
A pretrial was set May 16 for Stacy Parker, 57, Struthers, charged with OVI first offense, OVI above .238 urine first offense and marked lanes.
A pretrial was set May 13 for Terrance Turner, 37, Niles, charged with OVI first offense and left of center.
A pretrial was set May 13 for Christopher Crooms, 35, Lincoln Street, Salineville, charged with failure to stop after an accident and reasonable control.
A pretrial was set June 17 for Jonathan Ward, 28, Austintown, charged with driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.
The case against Tyler Smith, 26, Smith Road, Negley, was dismissed after Smith successfully completed all conditions and terms of the treatment in lieu of conviction program, with the sentence in the case vacated and set aside. The charge against him had been weapons while intoxicated for a 2021 incident in East Liverpool.
A pretrial was set May 20 for Jose Davila, 54, Darlington, Pa., charged with driving under suspension and window tint.
Cole McMannis, 19, Struthers, was fined $250 for driving under suspension.
Lasha Tsikarishvilli, 36, Riverhead, N.Y., was fined $150 for speeding.
Jessica Lindner, 36, Pritchard Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $100 for expired license and improper/expired registration.
John Strader, 57, Michigan Boulevard, Salem, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from a stop sign violation.
Dustin Greenawalt, 28, North Benton, was fined $250 for a stopped school bus violation.
Brandon Eastek, 18, Lisbon Canfield Road, Leetonia, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from reasonable control.
A pretrial was set June 17 for Alejandro Fred, 36, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set June 13 or Kelly Herald-Hall, 51, New Waterford Road, New Waterford, charged with use of unauthorized plate and driving under suspension.
Kaleb Farnsworth, 29, Birch Road, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set June 13 for Ashley Marmet, 34, Wooster, charged with speeding.
A pretrial was set May 13 for Jason Summers, 39, West State Street, Salem, charged with driving under suspension.
Martin Fortenbury, 51, Cortland, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.
