LISBON — A Columbiana woman’s attempt to get evidence in her case thrown out failed, with Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Washam overruling all aspects of the motion to suppress.
Marcie McMannis, 48, Albright Avenue, remains scheduled to face trial on drug charges on April 1. A status hearing remains set for March 21.
McMannis was indicted last year for fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing oxycodone and drug paraphernalia at her residence during the execution of a search warrant on Jan. 12, 2023 by the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
The defense motion to suppress targeted the search warrant, saying the information it was based on was stale, but Washam noted that some of the information occurred just a few days before the search warrant was granted by county Municipal Court Judge Katelyn Dickey on Jan. 9, 2023.
