LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Crystal Holloway, 46, Center Avenue, Lisbon, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony burglary for allegedly entering a man’s residence without permission on Jan. 31 on state Route 164, Lisbon. He was home at the time and told her to leave.

A case against Tai K. Kotas, 43, Newell, W.Va., was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle on Jan. 28 in Perry Township.

A preliminary hearing was set Feb. 22 for Joseph Desarro, 30, Duke Vodrey Road, East Liverpool, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence for allegedly placing bags of suspected cocaine and suspected pressed fentanyl pills into the upstairs bathroom toilet and attempting to flush them while the Columbiana County Drug Task Force was executing a search warrant at a residence on Cadmus Street, East Liverpool on Feb. 12.

Dan Alexandru Popa, 51, Lakewood, was fined $500 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and a 12-hour online prostitution prevention course. Popa responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, traveling to East Palestine on Feb. 2 for the meeting, with his cell phone used to make the arrangements.

A pretrial was set April 18 for Matthew M. LeBanc, 55, Limestone, N.Y., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $240, traveling to East Palestine on Jan. 26 for the meeting, with his cell phone used to make the arrangements.

A pretrial was set May 6 for Lawrence Powers, 57, Acme, Pa., charged with possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $240, traveling to East Palestine on Jan. 24 for the meeting, with his cell phone used to make the arrangements.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Marybelle Cline, 45, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly attempting to physically harm a man on Feb. 11 in Wellsville by slapping him in the face and pulling his hair.

A pretrial was set May 2 for Ronald Sluss Jr., 44, last known address Martin Street, East Liverpool, charged with two counts driving under suspension, two counts of domestic violence, and single counts of criminal damaging, reckless operation, failure to report accident and reasonable control. On Jan. 28, Wellsville police officers were called to state Route 7 south before the Aten Avenue exit and were told that a man hit a woman in the stomach area. She wrote in her statement that he hit her in the head with a case of Twisted Tea and slammed the truck door on her twice. Sluss also allegedly hit the bridge on Lisbon Street, Wellsville with his vehicle on Jan. 28, with numerous traffic charges related to his actions.

Cara-Lee Blystone, 33, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $400 and sentenced to two days in jail for theft and possession of criminal tools for stealing $114 worth of items from the Calcutta Walmart and also cutting tags off of several items and using her purse to conceal items on Nov. 22, 2023.

A competency hearing was set April 11 for Cynthia Williams, 76, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with two counts of theft. She was ordered examined by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio for competency to stand trial. Williams was accused of two separate theft incidents at the Salem Walmart on July 4, 2021 and July 6, 2021 for allegedly selecting several items, placing them into Walmart bags and then returning them for both cash and credit at the service counter

A pretrial was set May 14 for Mallory Stowers, 41, West Sixth Street, East Liverpool, charged with six counts of failure to file city income tax return for allegedly failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns from 2017 through 2022.

Christopher Ingram, 41, Newell, W.Va., waived extradition as a fugitive from justice from the state of West Virginia for the offense of burglary. Ingram was served with the warrant on Feb. 13 in Columbiana County.

Sean Ramsey, 29, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 171 days suspended and credit for nine days served, for assault, amended from domestic violence. He was ordered to complete 30 hours community service. Ramsey harmed or attempted to harm a woman on Oct. 17 in Wellsville, being seen by police with the woman in a chokehold from behind, picking her up and dragging her back inside the residence.

A charge of prohibitions concerning companion animals was dismissed against Delton Weaver, 24, state Route 9, Hanoverton, under a stipulation to pay costs. Weaver had been accused of leaving his dog in his vehicle with all the windows up and the vehicle not running on Sept. 3 in Salem.

Michael Delp, 47, Youngstown, was fined $475 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 88 days suspended and credit for two days served, for menacing, amended from aggravated menacing, obstructing official business and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Delp threatened a woman with a gun which she didn’t see and threatened to harm her with a green kitchen knife during an incident March 2, 2023 in Salem. He also allegedly failed to listen to police when they asked him to come to the door and possessed drug paraphernalia.

A pretrial was set April 25 for Matthew McCale, 60, McDonald, charged with theft for allegedly stealing two drill and impact driver tool sets valued at $199 each from Tractor Supply in Calcutta on Aug. 30, 2020, removing the anti-theft devices from the items and hiding them under three bags of oil dry which he purchased with a credit card at the self-checkout.

Destiny Earich, 26, Wood Street, Wellsville, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 20 days suspended and credit for one day served, leaving a balance of nine days to serve in jail, for disorderly conduct. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. On June 26, 2022, Earich was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a minor accident and returned to the scene and began an argument with the other driver, then became a physical altercation.

Austin Carter, 25, Ambrose Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 and sentenced to one day in jail, with credit for one day served, for violating a temporary protection order. Carter drove by and yelled at woman, calling her a derogatory name on Aug. 9, 2023 in Wellsville. The woman had a protection order against him.

A status hearing was set May 7 and a court trial was set May 14 for Derek Rhodes, 49, West Salem Alliance Road, Salem, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

A pretrial was set March 14 for Christopher Hill, 33, Middlefield, charged with OVI third offense and OVI-urine/blood/serum/plasma-amphetamines.

A pretrial was set May 7 for Charlotte Eichler, 50, Mechanicstown, charged with OVI first offense and reasonable control.

Brad Harlan, 47, Georgetown Road, Homeworth was fined $1,025 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control, amended from OVI, and failure to control. His driver’s license was suspended for 270 days and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set May 14 for Jimmie Lee Dubose Jr., 48, East Third Street, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, marked lanes and tinted glass.

A pretrial was set May 7 for Tyler Brown, 23, Cleveland Street, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense, no valid license and marked lanes.

A pretrial was set April 25 for Adam Lydic, 28, South Union Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI second offense, OVI breath second offense and marked lanes.

Henry Rucinski Jr., 68, Quay Road, Negley, was fined $905 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, leaving 30 days still to serve, for OVI third offense and reasonable control. His driver’s license was suspended for three years and he was ordered to complete 60 hours community service.

Deanna Hannigan, 60, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, was fined $150 for failure to stop after an accident.

Nathan Jones, 37, Osbourne Road, Salineville, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.2

Clayton Schafer, 22, Poland, was fined $100 for speeding, amended from speeding in a school zone.

Zachary Jones, 37, Jefferson Street, East Liverpool, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and a stop sign violation.

Joana Mitchell, 49, Youngstown, was fined $100 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.

Derek Smith, 52, Kirk Road, Columbiana, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from traffic control devices.

Michael Beaver, 35, Opal Drive, Wellsville, was fined $100 for a turn signal violation and speeding.

Rebecca Miller, 41, Scotts Mill Road, Rogers, was fined $150 for speeding.

A pretrial was set March 5 for Erich Mericle, 39, state Route 154, Lisbon, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set April 11 for Serena Stanek, 57, Pittsburgh, Pa., charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set April 18 for Kaleb Hersey, 25, Aliquippa, Pa., charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set May 9 for Kaylyn Pontuti, 30, Royal Birkdale Drive, Columbiana, charged with speeding.
