LISBON -- A Salem man charged with multiple drug counts, including first-degree felony trafficking, was among the defendants served recently with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury.
John Wagner, 37, West Wilson Street, was issued charges through two separate indictments, with one stemming from incidents in December 2022 and the other from drug possessions in November 2022.
Wagner was charged with first-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs, second-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, fourth-degree felonies of possession of heroin and possession of fentanyl-related compound and fifth-degree felonies of possession of cocaine and two counts possession of fentanyl-related compound, all with specifications for forfeiture of money from a drug case, along with third-degree felony tampering with evidence, third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and two misdemeanor counts of endangering children.
On Nov. 8, 2022, Wagner allegedly possessed fentanyl and an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than bulk, but less than five times bulk. On Dec. 27, 2022, he allegedly possessing fentanyl and $310. Then on Dec. 29, 2022, he allegedly prepared for sale and possessed an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than five times bulk, but less than 50 times bulk, along with $71 and heroin and fentanyl in amounts equal or greater than 1 gram, but less than 5 grams. He also allegedly put two children, ages 7 years old and 9 years old, at risk on Dec. 29, 2022. On Dec. 30, 2022, he allegedly possessed cocaine.
Also served with secret indictments were:
-- Chad Brewer, 41, Darlington Road, Negley, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on May 30, 2023 while in the county jail.
-- Treyvon Johnson, 23, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool, fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine and two counts misdemeanor possession of drugs, for allegedly possessing cocaine, diazepam and alprazolam on Sept 25, 2023.
-- Bryan Veglia Jr., 32, Duke Vodrey Road, East Liverpool, two counts nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support for two children from Sept. 27, 2020 to Sept. 25, 2022.
-- Ricky Pine Jr., 51, Youngstown, two counts nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support for two children from Jan. 5, 2020 to Jan. 2, 2022.
