Municipal Court

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Justine Desarro, 33, Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony burglary for allegedly climbing through a window into a residence where she wasn’t permitted on Feb. 19. She was also fined $200 for no license and reasonable control

A preliminary hearing was set March 4 for Orlando Walker, 32, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, charged with third-degree felony having weapons under disability for allegedly possessing a handgun under the passenger seat where he was seated during a traffic stop on Feb. 4 in East Liverpool. He was prohibited from having a weapon.

A preliminary hearing was set April 8 for Capri Peake, 23, Austintown, charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs for allegedly possessing a pill with a Hello Kitty imprint that tested positive as methamphetamine.

A pretrial was set March 7 for Jessica Williams, 35, Main Street, Leetonia, charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a person on Feb. 24 in Leetonia.

A pretrial was set May 14 for Allison Heverly, 23, state Route 558, Leetonia, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing another woman and causing her to fall over a child during a domestic on Feb. 3 in Salem Township.

A pretrial was set April 29 for William Arthur VanCuren, 57, Dubois, Pa., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $100, arriving in East Palestine on Feb. 22 for the meeting.

Tyler Antoniazzi, 28, South Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served, for assault and disorderly conduct, amended from assault. On Aug. 8, 2023 in East Palestine, he was charged for punching a man and a woman.

Luis Antonio Rivera, 36, Bridgeport, Texas, was fined $500 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for possessing criminal tools and disorderly conduct, amended from engaging in prostitution. He was permitted to buy out 40 hours community service for $400 and ordered to complete an online prostitution prevention course, which was already completed. Rivera responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a female to be paid via his CashApp, traveling to East Palestine on Nov. 18 for the meeting.

Mike Hollosy, 58, Coventry Township, was fined $750 and sentenced to 90 days in the county, with 87 days suspended ad credit for three days served, for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Hollosy requested sexual conduct from an undercover agent for an agreed upon price of $140 via a telecommunications device and arrived in Salem on Nov. 11 for the meeting.

Chris Woolley, 37, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for four days served in jail and 26 days electronically monitored house arrest, for violating a protection order. Woolley entered a residence in East Liverpool after being served with a protection order filed against him by a female resident on June 22, 2023,

A pretrial was set March 4 for Aaron Gibbs, 24, Oak Street, Leetonia, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking a woman in the chest/upper neck and pushing a man during a domestic on Feb 24 in Leetonia.

A pretrial was set March 7 for Sean Holtz, 37, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing harm to a woman during a domestic on Feb. 25 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set March 7 for Zachary Westover, 25, state Route 154, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence and endangering children for allegedly putting an 8-month-old child in his car and starting to drive away while intoxicated on Mountz Road, Knox Township on Feb. 25, which is also when he allegedly pulled a woman off of a couch and dragged her by her feet across the floor at the Mountz Road residence.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Randall Wooster, 50, Chris Avenue, Washingtonville, charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and improper/expired registration for allegedly refusing to cooperate with officers attempting to place him under arrest after a traffic stop on Feb. 23 in Columbiana. He allegedly continued to disobey multiple warnings to surrender and comply, a taser was deployed and a brief fight ensued until handcuffs were applied.

A pretrial was set May 20 for Angela Hoder, 48, Toronto, charged with theft for allegedly stealing a cell phone from a man on Leslie Road, Rogers on June 28, 2023.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Jeffrey Yanni, 20, Main Street, Wellsville, charged with falsification and obstructing official business for allegedly admitting on Feb. 24 to lying about an alleged sexual assault against him that he reported for a Nov. 22 incident in Wellsville. He also allegedly used deception to hinder the investigation and provided false information to witnesses to stall the investigation.

A pretrial was set April 18 for Michael Howell, 46, South Range Road, Columbiana, charged with obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a methamphetamine pipe and refusing to comply with several orders to stop reaching around while a passenger in a traffic stop on Feb. 25 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set March 7 for Alayah Thornton, 24, Commerce Street, Wellsville, charged with drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and domestic violence for allegedly possessing a burnt pipe, baggy containing unknown pills, folded up paper with unknown white powder and a prescription bottle not in her name containing unknown pills after St. Clair Township police responded to Sheetz gas station for a cabbie having issues with a passenger not paying on Feb. 24 in Calcutta. The other two charges stemmed from Thornton allegedly on July 3, 2022 in Wellsville tearing up a residence and then beginning to walk away and fight with police, having to be taken to the ground.

William Keck, 46, Woodland Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for menacing, amended from aggravated menacing. He was ordered to complete 60 hours community service and to have no contact with the Columbiana County Humane Society and its employees. Keck threatened employees of the Columbiana County Humane Society and was accused of threatening to burn the building down on Nov. 21 in Perry Township.

A pretrial was set April 25 for Payton Wilson, 25, West Seventh Street, East Liverpool, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly causing a disturbance and trying to break out windows at an East Liverpool residence on Feb. 12., disregarding officers’ requests to desist and continuing to act disorderly.

A pretrial was set April 25 for Damian Ferrainola, 40, Court Street, New Waterford, charged with attempted possession of fentanyl-related compound for allegedly possessing fentanyl on a folded dollar bill during a traffic stop on Sept 29 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set May 20 for Michael Hover, 33, West Ninth Street, Salem, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a small baggie with white pills during a traffic stop Feb. 24 in Salem.

Scott Rogers, 30, East Washington Street, Salineville, was fined $1,650 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, leaving 10 days to serve, for OVI, two counts driving under suspension and no headlight. A charge of OVI refusal with prior within 20 years was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for two years and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

Melissa Mills, 40, Jackson Avenue, Salem, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and following too close. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set April 30 for Phillip Kelley, 36, North Broadway, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, failure to stop after an accident and no valid license.

A pretrial was set March 7 for Michael Crittenden Jr., 28, East Sixth Street, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, driving under suspension, obstructing official business and resisting arrest for allegedly pulling away and fleeing on foot when officers attempted to take him into custody during a traffic stop on Feb. 23 in Salem. He also allegedly gave a false name and date of birth.

A pretrial was set March 26 for Pauline Weingart, 69, Springdale Avenue, Salem, charged with improper backing and starting.

Levi Peck, 19, Vine Street, Salem, was fined $250 for a stop sign-school bus violation.

A pretrial was set May 16 for Seraphim Laws, 19, Brenda Lane, Columbiana, charged with underage consumption for allegedly possessing an open container of alcohol during a traffic stop Feb. 19 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set May 23 for William Cunning, 46, Leake Street, East Palestine, charged with driving under suspension and marked lanes. A probable cause hearing was also set May 23 in a case for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

A pretrial was set April 29 for Herbert Swoager, 45, Imperial, Pa., charged with driving under suspension and loud exhaust.

Scott Rogers, 30, East Washington Street, Salineville, was fined $200 for no valid license and marked lanes.

Robert Allen, 23, Girard, was fined $45 for speeding.

Grand Jury

Secret Indictment

LISBON — Jamie Tice, 50, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was served recently with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for three counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first-degree felony, and one count aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony, with a specification for forfeiture of money in a drug case. Tice allegedly offered or prepared for sale an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than five times bulk, but less that 50 times bulk on May 18, 2023, May 24, 2023 and June 6, 2023 in the vicinity of Daw Elementary in Wellsville and possessed that amount of methamphetamine, along with $100, on June 6, 2023.
