LISBON — A man caught trespassing in an East Liverpool building with bolt cutters was sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felonies of breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools, and aggravated possession of drugs.
Justin Schneider, 33, Dunn Road, East Liverpool, entered the pleas recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to the charges in two separate cases. A charge of drug paraphernalia will be dismissed.
He was sentenced to seven months in prison for the drug possession charge for possessing methamphetamine on Sept. 9, 2022, with the term to be consecutive to the sentence for the other case.
He was sentenced to eight months for the breaking and entering and tools possession case, bringing the total to 15 months. The breaking and entering occurred Aug. 4, 2023 in East Liverpool, when he was found in the building with bolt cutters.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— A jury returned a verdict of guilty against David Muntean, 43, Raley Road, New Waterford, for a fifth-degree felony charge of violating a protection order. He was immediately sentenced to 365 days in the county jail, with credit for 171 days already served. Muntean was accused of violating a protection order in place against him on Sept. 1, 2023.
— Shawn Osborn, 43, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, was ordered evaluated for competency and sanity by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio. He’s charged with second-degree felony burglary, third-degree felonies of strangulation, domestic violence and violating a protection order, misdemeanor domestic violence, two counts fifth-degree felony violating a protection order, fourth-degree felony endangering children and misdemeanor intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case. Most of the charges stemmed from an incident Aug. 4, 2023 when Osborn allegedly choked, strangled and suffocated a woman and cut her face in the presence of a child in East Liverpool. The endangering children charge occurred from Aug. 17 to 19, 2023 with the intimidation allegedly occurring Aug. 15 to 22, 2023.
— Shannon Johnson, 43, McDonald Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance of drug of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, a third-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing cocaine and taking a drug onto the grounds of a detention facility on Dec. 29, 2019. Sentencing was set for April 29.
