LISBON — A man currently serving time in a federal prison in Pennsylvania was sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to three drug counts.
Samuel Spilios, 41, Newell, W.Va., entered the plea in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Friday via video from FCI Loretto in Loretto, Pa. to third-degree felonies of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and aggravated trafficking in drugs and fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
He was sentenced to nine months in prison for the two trafficking charges and an additional six months for the possession charge, for a total of 15 months. The sentence was ordered served at the same time as any sentence he’s currently serving. According to Federal Bureau of Prisons online records, the release date for Spilios from federal prison is Feb. 26, 2030.
He was also fined $5,000 for each of the trafficking charges.
Charges of possession of fentanyl-related compound, possession of heroin, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine for possessing fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine on Dec. 20, 2019 will be dismissed.
Spilios was accused of preparing for sale both fentanyl and an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than bulk but less than five times bulk, along with possessing oxycodone, on Dec. 20, 2019.
Grand Jury
LISBON — William Tomlin, 53, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was served Saturday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on May 2, 2022.
