LISBON — A Youngstown man who absconded the area and failed to show up for sentencing on drug charges in 2022 was caught in November and finally faced sentencing Thursday.
DeWaylon Bruton, 39, was ordered to prison for nine months for third-degree felony illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility and three counts of fifth-degree felony possession of drugs. He received credit for 87 days served in jail.
On Dec. 30, 2015, Bruton possessed heroin, buprenorphine and tramadol and tried to convey the drugs onto the grounds of the county jail. He was indicted in 2016, entered a guilty plea in January 2022 and was supposed to be sentenced April 8, 2022. The sentencing was then moved to June 6, 2022, but Bruton failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued.
He was placed into custody on Nov. 21, 2023.

— James L. Wilson, 57, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, was placed on probation for two years after pleading guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for one child from July 4, 2021 to July 2, 2023.
