LISBON — A Wellsville woman was found guilty on a single charge of abuse of a corpse following a jury trial Wednesday in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Tiffany Sattler, 31, Commerce Street, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and fined $500 for helping to move a deceased drug overdose victim who was dragged to a van on Chester Avenue and transported to the area known as the switch at state Route 7 and Kountz Avenue in Wellsville on March 22, 2021. She also told someone she didn’t call emergency personnel because she had a warrant for her arrest. Abuse of a corpse is a second-degree misdemeanor in the state of Ohio.

A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 7 for David Gamble, 34, Avondale Road, East Liverpool, charged with fourth-degree felony criminal mischief, fifth-degree felony breaking and entering, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools, four counts of misdemeanor criminal damaging and misdemeanor theft. The charges stem from three incidents. On Nov. 24, officers responded to Nikki’s Market on Dresden Avenue in East Liverpool where the blades of an air conditioning unit had been allegedly bent by Gamble. The damage to the unit was estimated at over $6,500. On Nov. 29, officers responded to a break-in at Kent State University’s branch in East Liverpool. Upon arrival officers reportedly found the front door glass smashed and Gamble on the third floor of the building. Gamble was transported to jail and while in the booking area, allegedly kicked and damaged fingerprinting equipment.

A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 7 for Robert Anderson III, 44, Dutchtown Road, Rogers, charged with fifth-degree felony theft and fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools. Anderson allegedly attempted to cut down and remove wires belonging to AT&T on Nov. 28 in Lisbon. Bolt cutters and other cutting equipment was reportedly found in his possession.

A preliminary hearing was set Jan. 16 for Khrystelle Pavlik, 28, Youngstown, charged with fifth-degree felony possession of drugs. Pavlik was an inmate at the Columbiana County Jail when correction officers detected the smell of marijuana. The cell which housed Pavlik was searched and two straws with white residue were allegedly located — one of which later tested positive for methamphetamine.

A pretrial was set Dec. 7 for Tiffany Mansbeck, 30, Cadmus Street, East Liverpool, charged with endangering children. According to the affidavit, a child in the residence was found to be “covered in insect bites” on Nov. 21 and living in deplorable conditions with no electricity, unusable bathroom facilities, spoiled food, fleas and cockroaches. The city health department later condemned the home.

A preliminary hearing was set Dec. 7 for James Craig III, 39, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony fourth-offense OVI.

A pretrial was set Feb. 26 for Luis Rivera, 36, Bridgeport, Texas, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Rivera allegedly made contact with an undercover agent through an online ad and arranged to exchange a Cash App payment for sexual activity and traveling to East Palestine on Nov. 18 to do so.

Jonathan Cook, 39, Oak Street, Leetonia, was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 suspended and three imposed for reckless operation amended from OVI and possession of marijuana. A charge of speeding was dismissed. He was also fined $350, received a 180-day license suspension and was ordered to complete a driver’s intervention program.

A pretrial was set Feb. 27 for Dale Clemmer, 60, West Main Street, East Palestine, charged with failure to stop after an accident, reasonable control and seatbelt.

A pretrial was set Feb. 27 for Petra Montgomery, 26, Rose Drive, Lisbon, charged with open container.

Miles Jenkins, 29, Alliance, was fined $205 for driving under suspension.

Courtney Gardner, 34, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for possession of marijuana.

A pretrial was set for Holly Lewis, 36, Hamilton Road, East Liverpool, charged with OVI and texting while driving.

A pretrial hearing was set Feb. 20 for Keith and Helen Maple, Harvey Avenue, East Liverpool, each charged with littering. A notice of a housing violation was given on June 23. The affidavit states that despite giving the owners ample time to clean up the property located within East Liverpool city limits, trash allegedly remains on and strewn across the property.
