Grand Jury

LISBON — A West Virginia man was served Saturday in East Liverpool with two separate secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for multiple drug charges.

Gene Brandon Wright, 40, New Cumberland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine in an amount equal or exceeding 5 times bulk, but less than 50 times bulk and cocaine on June 19.

The other indictment charged him with illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, a third-degree felony, aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, and fifth-degree felonies of possession of cocaine and possession of fentanyl-related compound. He allegedly took drugs into a detention facility and possessed methamphetamine in an amount equal or exceeding 5 times bulk, but less than 50 times bulk and possessed cocaine on March 1 and then possessed fentanyl on March 3.
