LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of harming a woman on two different days in August 2022 was sentenced to nine months in prison for two counts of domestic violence.
Preston English, 30, Densmore Avenue, East Liverpool, entered guilty pleas to the two third-degree felonies earlier in the fall in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. He received credit for 32 days served in the county jail.
English was accused of attempting to harm the woman on Aug. 12, 2022 and Aug. 27, 2022, with previous convictions for domestic violence elevating the charges to felonies.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Kerri Steffel, 35, Bank Street, Salem, was placed on probation for four years, but must serve up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. A charge of obstructing official business was dismissed. Steffel was accused of causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a man on April 8, with a previous domestic violence conviction on her record.
— Kane Kurpely, 19, McSwiggen Road, Salineville, was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on Oct. 2, 2022.
— Jenny Olmstead, 47, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, was found not competent to stand trial and ordered to undergo treatment consistent with a recent order issued by county Municipal Court for her to undergo treatment at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. The decision was based on a competency evaluation. A probation violation for a domestic violence charge remains pending in Common Pleas Court for a Feb. 18, 2021 incident. The municipal court case involves charges of assault for allegedly causing physical harm to multiple nurses and two paramedics at East Liverpool City Hospital on Aug. 2.
— Travis Mayle, 34, Paris, was ordered evaluated by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio for competency to stand trial. He’s charged with third-degree felonies of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and tampering with evidence and misdemeanors of resisting arrest and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The charges all stem from an incident on Nov. 13, 2022 when he allegedly resisting being handcuffed during his arrest by a trooper after an alleged pursuit while impaired.
— Zachary T.D. Rudder, 26, Henry Avenue, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to grand theft of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Feb. 5. Rudder was accused of stealing a 1999 Olds sedan belonging to Susan Baker on March 17, 2020.
— David Sisco Jr., 33, Sixth Street, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, fifth-degree felony possession of fentanyl-related compound and misdemeanors of possession of drugs and endangering children. Sentencing was set for April 11. Sisco brought drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, possessed fentanyl and tramadol and put a child at risk on Oct. 14, 2021. Sisco is currently serving a prison term for another case.
— Brian Pugh, 47, Chester, W.Va., was placed on an intervention plan for 18 months after pleading guilty to theft, a fifth-degree felony, for stealing miscellaneous merchandise from the Calcutta Walmart on Dec. 20, 2022 by failing to scan and pay for 75 items totaling $1,175.
— Autumn Goodfellow, 27, Jennings Avenue, Salem, was placed on probation for 24 months, including serving up to six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon, after pleading guilty to obstructing justice, a fifth-degree felony. She was accused of lying to police officers attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a male she knew on Dec. 15, 2022. Police discovered the male was inside the Washington Avenue, Salem home after she claimed he wasn’t there.
